It's been lively to say the least, this is carnage. We've seen fast starts from teams at this World Cup, but how have they sustained this over 14 overs?

It's been lively to say the least, this is carnage. We've seen fast starts from teams at this World Cup, but how have they sustained this over 14 overs?

They should have bowled Glenn Phillips sooner.
Trent Boult, Matt Henry, Mitch Santner, Lockie Ferguson.
No, the answer was Glenn Phillips all along.
His first over goes for just two.
The comeback is on.

That goes down as a dropped catch from Santner, but it is a brilliant effort. He has already taken a couple of excellent catches at this World Cup.
Aus 144-0
Tough, tough chance but the ones that have got to stick in this kind of situation.
A leading edge from Travis Head flies back towards Santner, who leaps like a salmon to get one hand to it but it bobbles out as he hits the deck.
It's the only chance we've had so far. Australia have been in sixth gear since ball one (if there were twelve gears, they'd be in that).

The scary thing is that came off the toe end of the bat, Travis Head didn't even get that. New Zealand can't keep bowling like this.

Lofted away and sailing over the ropes for another six runs, as Head came forward, it was inevitable what the outcome would be.
Mitchell Santner starts well with a tidy first three balls, before the fourth is launched for six by Travis Head.
I'm running out of words. It's just chaos.
Out of the powerplay, New Zealand can have more fielders on the boundary so does that mean Australia will slow down?
No, no it doesn't. Travis Head crunches a full delivery from Lockie Ferguson down the ground for four more.
Honestly, this is just bonkers.
Well, Henry, it was at 600 after six overs so that means New Zealand are pulling it back, right?
Right?
And as I say that, Mitchell Santner finds the edge of the bat! But it goes for four.
Henry Moeran

At this current run rate, Australia would finish on 590.

I've never seen anything like this in an ODI. It's not been something we've really seen ever before, never mind in a World Cup. This has been outstanding batting from David Warner and Travis Head.
Warner 65, Head 50
David Warner crashes four through the covers and then launches a short ball for six more.
Extraordinary.
It had to be Australia, didn't it?

To anyone from New Zealand, you decided to field first. I'm not sure it was a good decision, it's pretty flat out there.

Australia are going at two runs a ball across the first nine overs of this. New Zealand are being blown off the mountains. It is an Australia avalanche in Dharamsala.
Aus 108-0
I am head of the Mitchell Santner fan club, such a good player.
But his first over follows the same trend.
Four, six, four - the last boundary bringing up Travis Head's half-century from 25 balls.
Savage.
Alex Hartley
Former England bowler on BBC Test Match Special
If Australia just go at six an over from here, they will get to 350. At this rate, New Zealand need to go to death bowling.
Aus 93-0
A 28-ball half-century for David Warner.
Three fours, and five sixes.
Sigh.
Geoff Lemon

Considering the boost Australia have, even a mediocre innings from here is 300+.
Short, six.
I'm so glad I got up at five in the morning for this.
