    Smith c Boult b Phillips 18 (Aus 228-3)

    Three for Glenn Phillips!

New Zealand's golden arm strikes again. It is a really poor shot from Steve Smith, who just chips that straight up to Trent Boult at mid-off to take an easy catch.

Marnus Labuschagne is next in and Australia could really do with him playing a few shots here.

The alarm just gone, and you're here to catch up on what you've missed?

New Zealand won the toss and chose to bowl but have been carted round Dharamsala.

David Warner and Travis Head shared 175 for the first wicket.

    Enjoy all their sixes.

  3. Aus 227-2published at 29 overs

A good over from Australia compared to their others recently, taking eight runs from it.

Smith's first ball boundary is accompanied by four straight singles to end the over.

  4. Aus 223-2published at 28.1 overs

    Edged, and four.

A slight area of concern for Steve Smith, but it keeps a fair bit away from Daryl Mitchell at slip and runs away to the boundary.

It breaks the duck, but it was not all that convincing.

  5. Aus 219-2published at 28 overs

It is now 22 balls without a boundary, a total that seems preposterous considering how fast they were scoring when Warner and Head were batting.

They could do with some quick runs, even if it is just to unsettle the bowlers more than anything else.

New Zealand hope that these two and Labuschagne chew up as many balls as possible so Inglis and Maxwell aren't in for too long.

  7. Aus 215-2published at 27 overs

Six runs come off Mitchell Santner's bowling, with Australia really struggling to hit the big shot.

Hardly any wicket-taking chances have been made, but equally, the wait for boundaries continue.

  8. Aus 209-2published at 26 overs

Glenn Phillips with some really good and tidy bowling, conceding three singles and then matching it with three dot balls.

We have not seen much seam for quite a while and considering how expensive the quicks were early on, this will have encouraged New Zealand.

It's very un-Marsh like. I've been impressed about how he's gone about his innings so far. Against the Netherlands he gave his wicket away, against the Netherlands he faced a few dot balls and then played a big old hack and was caught by Colin Ackermann. He knows he's got time.

  10. Aus 206-2published at 25 overs

Five come from that over in total from Ravindra and New Zealand are continuing to gradually strangle the strike rate.

So far, the big hitting Mitchell Marsh sits on just six off his 15 balls.

Early intent from Steve Smith, hitting Ravindra for four.

Perhaps putting him into bat in this situation was not necessarily the conservative option.

  12. Aus 201-2published at 24 overs

A wicket and just one run comes from Phillips' latest over.

Australia could have gone bold and put Glenn Maxwell in, but they've gone for a bit of a safer option in Steve Smith.

Ravindra continues with the ball in hand.

It's just back of a length, bit quicker. It skips on the surface and stays low, but welcome back to the team, Travis Head. That's been some serious hitting.

  14. wicket

    WICKETpublished at 23.2 overs

    Head b Phillips 109 (Aus 200-2)

    Bowled!

Travis Head's remarkable innings comes to an end as he is bowled by New Zealand's golden arm, Glenn Phillips.

The stand of Head and Warner has really set the tone, but Phillips' two wickets in quick succession has pulled New Zealand back into this.

It's been unreal batting for David Warner and Travis Head. Mitchell Marsh hasn't played a shot in anger, but he doesn't need to - he just needs to get Head on strike, who's seeing it like a beach ball.

  16. Aus 200-1published at 23 overs

Australia end the 23rd (yes, 23rd) over by bringing up their 200.

I can certainly think of one or two teams in this tournament who would be grateful to score that in a whole innings, mentioning no names.

Hitting sixes is the easiest thing in the world for Travis Head today. That's his seventh today.

  18. 6 runs

    Aus 197-1published at 22.2 overs

    Travis Head goes big again!

Do you reckon he ever gets bored of playing shots like that? He certainly is not boring to watch.

This one gets pumped over long on and it is not the first time that Head has looked to hit big off Ravindra.

  19. Aus 191-1published at 22 overs

Another tidy over from Phillips, who is worked for just four singles from it.

New Zealand are continuing to stick with the spin partnership of Phillips and Rachin Ravindra.

Ravindra has gone for less than eight runs an over, which compared to some of his colleagues so far, that is pretty good going.

What a popular century, you could see the entire Australian dressing room up on their feet applauding him. He lifts the energy of this team!
