You see Bairstow walking off the pitch, it shows England don't really know how to get out of this. It is a tentative poke. It is very tough. Do you criticise Bairstow there for not playing a proper shot there?

England have gone 9-4 in their last 27 balls.
No hat-trick as new batter Moeen Ali blocks out his first delivery.
It feels like it is only delaying the inevitable at the moment.

Mohammed Shami now finds himself on a hat-trick.

This place is absolutely bouncing now, it is all lit up.
Baristow b Shami 14 (Eng 39-4)
This is turning into yet another England disaster.
It is yet another chop on as Jonny Bairstow gets his cut shot outside off stump all wrong and the ball is edged back on to his own stumps.

I probably shouldn't repeat what Aggers said to me about that Stokes dismissal.
Phil Long

All of Jos Buttler's dismissals in this World Cup have been to pace deliveries.

Bumrah is just incredible watch. An incredible, incredible bowler. How he gets that match speed off that short a run up. The mechanics of it, he almost looks like he's going to snap his back in half. Swings it both ways.
Target 230
Jos Buttler, who has looked like has the weight of the world on his shoulders recently, has joined Jonny Bairstow in the middle with his team once again in a deep hole.
He gets off the mark with a dab down to third man that is fumbled by the man on the rope for four.
England will take everything they can get at the moment.

Virat is allowed one drop every now and again, on a day where he got out for a duck. that would have been an incredible catch.
Natalie Germanos
BBC Test Match Special commentator
That would have been an excellent catch from Virat Kohli and it has just evaded him.
What is going on?!
Jonny Baristow looks to cut Jasprit Bumrah but can only edge towards Virat Kohli at first slip, who cannot quite hold on despite a gallant effort diving to his right.

England were 30-0. Since then, they have been 3-3.

That is a ugly dismissal from Ben Stokes. With Shami presenting it's seam on off stump. It hits the stump, comes back in hits the leg stump. Stokes was trying to fling at that. England were cantering towards the target.

We said a few moments ago if he got out like that, it would not look good. It looked worse than that, that was awful. The stumps are wrecked. That is a dismissal Ben Stokes will not be proud of.
Stokes b Shami 0 (Eng 33-3)
That felt inevitable.
Ben Stokes has looked horribly out touch and is finally put out of his misery. It is an ugly hoick across the line that is nowhere near the ball and his stumps are promptly splattered.
England have that sinking feeling again.

Would love to see Bumrah on a green top in England in May. He'd be unplayable.
Kim in London
India are favourites and at home! This would be a challenge for in-form England, let alone this bunch!
Peter in Durham
Maybe in future England will pick a team based on form and not who your mates are.

Oh, Ben. It is not that sort of pitch. It is a pitch for knocking off four or five runs an over. England will win this game with old-school cricket, though they may not like it.
