  1. Ban 36-3published at 9 overs

Mahmudullah with a glorious square drive off Shaheen Afridi brings him four more.

Here's those other two Bangladesh wickets to fall, by the way.

Najmul Shanto's dismissal is a bit soft as he tamely chipped Shaheen to short mid-wicket, but a nice piece of brilliant bowling from Haris Rauf to get Mushfiqur Rahim.

  2. Ban 32-3published at 8 overs

It's been a tough start by Bangladesh, but here's some tasty looking consecutive boundaries from Liton Das.

  3. Mahmudulla not outpublished at 7.2 overs

Way way too high, and missing leg stump.

    A pretty poor review.

The feeling here is that it didn't really look out, but Haris Rauf was determined.

  5. Pakistan reviewpublished at 7.2 overs

"No Babar!" decries Nasser Hussain on commentary.

Haris Rauf hits Mahmudulla high on the thigh and the Pakistan seamer manages to persuade Babar Azam into a review.

    This looks way too high.

  6. ouch!

    Ban 27-3published at 7 overs

Liton Das drives the first ball of Shaheen Afridi's fourth over through point for four. Nice hot.

Usama Mir makes a diving stop at short mid-wicket a few balls later but there's blood gushing from the webbing off his finger. He sprints off for some medical attention.

Here's how Shaheen bagged his 100th ODI wicket with the dismissal of Tanzid Hasan.

Good ball from Rauf. He presented the seam to give it a chance to swing and the length was slightly shorter, so Mushfiqur was caught tentatively prodding forward and can only feather through to the wicketkeeper.

    Bangladesh are in serious trouble.

  8. wicket

    WICKETpublished at 6 overs

    Mushfiqur c Rizwan b Rauf 5 (Ban 23-3)

Mushfiqur Rahim plays a glorious square drive for four but next ball Haris Rauf gets him with a beauty.

Rauf holds his length back and Mushfiqur fiddles with a defensive prod outside off stump. He feathers a catch via the outside edge through to the gloves of Muhammad Rizwan.

Bangladesh in a bit of trouble here.

Good shot from Litton Das. That was a stroke of man who is getting used to the pace of the surface.

  10. Ban 18-2published at 5.2 overs

Liton Das has got the Bangladesh on their feet cheering, waving their flags and blaring their horns.

The Bangladesh opener hits back-to-back boundaries off Haris Rauf, planting that luminous green batting spike down twice driving him down the ground for four.

    Nice strokeplay.

  11. Ban 10-2published at 5 overs

It's about about a 10-hour train journey from the Bangladesh capital of Dhaka to Kolkata so Eden Gardens has a healthy number of travelling Bangladesh fans in the ground making plenty of noise.

You can travel visa free between the two countries which obviously helps for those who have left it late in the day to make the trip over the border.

They are still cheering loudly for their team despite a pretty modest start with the bat.

Those meetings with the president of the Bangladesh Cricket Board have not yet had the desired effect.

  13. Ban 9-2published at 4 overs

Liton Das, who is sporting some rather garish llime green batting spikes, is in a cautious frame of mind as he and Mushfiqur Rahim play low-risk cricket against ftikhar Ahmed.

Three singles off the Pakistan off-spinner.

That's a really good catch low to his right.

Pakistan have that short mid-wicket in because the surface is dry so they anticipated that the ball will stop on the batter slightly and make those sort of shots into the leg-side very dangerous.

  15. wicket

    WICKETpublished at 2.4 overs

    Shanto c Mir b Shaheen 4 (Ban 6-2)

Deary me. Not the start Bangladesh would have wanted after winning the toss and batting first.

A very tame dismissal as Najmul Shanto clips a rather unthreatening delivery from Shaheen Afridi off his pads straight into the hands of the diving Usama Mir at a very short mid-wicket position.

Wicket 101 for Shaheen Afridi. Shanto will want a replay of that dismissal put into Room 101.

  16. Ban 5-1published at 2 overs

Iftikhar Ahmed's off spin to start at the other end.

He bowls four dots to Liton Das before a single brings Najmul Shanto on strike.

Shanto opens the face to Iftikhar's final delivery and is able to guide it through short third and it beats the dive of Shaheen Afridi to race away for four.

That's the beauty of bowling with these white balls. You can present the seam as if it is going to swing away. Tanzid played for that but it nipped off the seam and was going on to clip the top of the stumps for umpire's call, which as a former bowler is fine by me.

  19. wicket

    WICKETpublished at 0.5 overs

    Tanzid lbw b Shaheen 0 (Ban 0-1)

Gone! Poor footwork from Tanzid Hasan, who shuffles across his stumps and plays for a delivery from Shaheen Afridi which just nipped in to beat the bat and hits him on the front pad.

The ball-tracking technology shows it would have hit the top of leg stump.

Umpire's call on height so it was close.
