A single to deep square leg keeps Fakhar Zaman on strike.

Bangladesh need to make something happen soon because Pakistan are almost a quarter of the way to their target.

Defeat would makes the Tigers the first side officially out of contention for the semi-finals.

  2. Pak 46-0published at 8.3 overs

    Target 205

Fakhar Zaman is looking good so far on his return to the side.

The newly-introduced Mustafizur Rahman is the latest to suffer as Fakhar nails a drive through the covers for four.

  3. 6 runs

    Pak 42-0published at 8 overs

    Target 205

Fakhar Zaman is down the pitch and lifts the ball over wide long on for six.

Superb ball striking from the left-hander to put the pressure on Mehidy Hasan Miraz.

  4. Pak 33-0published at 7 overs

    Target 205

Solid start from Pakistan with plenty of patient batting punctuated by the odd boundary.

Given Bangladesh were three down by this stage, Babar Azam's side can be pleased with this start.

Here it is. This is that big six from Fakhar Zaman off Taskin Ahmed.

I'd recommend having the sound on just for the noise off the bat...

  6. Pak 33-0published at 6.3 overs

    Target 205

On the pads from Taskin Ahmed and Abdullah Shafique just waits for it before timing it perfectly through mid-wicket for four.

Good signs for the Pakistan opener.

What this tournament has shown is that T20 and 50-over cricket are significantly different games and played at a different pace, especially in these conditions.

We have seen some high scores but they are off the back of proper batting to begin with before an explosion at the end.

  8. Pak 28-0published at 6 overs

    Target 205

Solid efforts on the Halloween cricketers, there. Witchie Witchardson still my favourite, though.

Anyway, we've got an early look at spin in this innings as Mehidy Hasan Miraz comes on.

He strays leg side late in the over and Abdullah Shafique doesn't miss out as he sweeps powerfully behind square for four.

Taskin Ahmed comes back well and concedes just a single from the rest of the over.

But I'm still not over that shot from Fakhar Zaman and that sound off the bat. It was something else!

Well that's Fahkar for you. He likes to go big.

Wow! That is ludicrous from Fakhar Zaman!

The left-hander has not got going but he's away now. A good delivery on a length but he just swipes it high over the leg side for six - it's gone 95m.

That came from nowhere and sound off the bat... just gorgeous.

A member of the Bangladesh staff is towelling off Taskin Ahmed on the boundary, like one of those fellas in a boxing ring.

It is a very humid evening.

Good over for Pakistan with 10 coming from it to get them moving again after those two maidens.

With such a low total on the board, it doesn't take too many of them before this game starts to get away from Bangladesh.

There was typical Pakistani/Indian technique in that shot. A lot of oomph with the bottom hand.

  16. Pak 14-0published at 3.3 overs

    Target 205

Swing for Shoriful Islam but Abdullah Shafique is able to take it off middle stump and through the leg side for four.

It was a good ball and came off the inside half of the bat but, with such a quick outfield, the chasing fielders had no chance of reeling it in.

I'm surprised Taskin Ahmed has not played every game for Bangladesh at this World Cup.

He is tall and has got a lot stronger over the last few years. He hits the track hard and presents the seam nicely.

  18. Pak 6-0published at 3 overs

    Cracking delivery from Taskin Ahmed!

Just back of a length and ball really bounces and swings away from the right-handed Abdullah Shafique.

Another maiden as Bangladesh apply some early pressure.

    Maiden over from Shoriful Islam.

Good stuff from the left-arm seamer and, for five balls, Fakhar Zaman respects the quality of the bowling.

However, he's frustrated by the end of the over and misses with a booming drive to finish.
