In case you missed it, both of these batters have been dropped already.
Angelo Mathews' medium pace is doing quite a decent job at the moment, just four singles from it.
Wicket opportunities aren't coming, so Sri Lanka just need to try and string together a few economical overs.
Kusal Mendis turns to some spin as he attempts to regain some control.
Instead, Theekshana's first ball is punished by a Virat Kohli swat down the ground, complete with his trademark swagger.

Bringing a spinner in now is a huge moment to see what it will offer, if anything. There hasn't been much for the bowlers so far.
Ominous signs from Virat Kohli, as far as Sri Lanka are concerned.
Much better from Angelo Mathews, just three singles from it, but that concludes a dominant powerplay for India.
Sri Lanka's decision to bowl first looked to be vindicated by the departure of Rohit Sharma second ball, but it's gone back to looking questionable now.
The boundaries are flowing now.
A bit too much width from Rajitha allows Gill to drive sumptuously for four more and his inconsistency has cost Sri Lanka here.
Down the leg side again, same result. Four more to Gill, and it's too easy.
Sri Lanka have bowled the occasional very good over but there have been too many freebies thrown in. It has eased all the pressure that was built on Gill and Kohli early on.
Another huge moment, but certainly the tougher of the two.
Another bowling change, here's veteran Angelo Mathews.
He starts well before dropping one too short for Gill to put away for yet another boundary.
The easier of Sri Lanka's two drops.

Kohli had to do almost nothing there, just turn his wrists on the ball and it goes for four.
Beautiful.
Virat Kohli drives perfectly down the ground, barely has to move, and he looks set to make the most of his drop.
That boundary was all down to the batting, but the next is just poor bowling as Kasun Rajitha sprays one down the leg side that Kohli can easily clip away.
Ominous signs for Sri Lanka. They made early opportunities but the ball is finding the boundary regularly now.

That was a shot of authority from Kohli, it's the first time he's looked genuinely comfortable against Chameera.
And there's some of the timing.
Punched down the ground for four to end a cruel over for Sri Lanka.
Kohli's innings of 14 has been either class or scratchy, nothing in between.

That relieves a bit of pressure for India, but there is tension out there. India's hero Kohli is in danger, he's had a lot of trouble so far.
Sweetly driven through the covers for four as Virat Kohli just feels like making matters worse for Sri Lanka.
Oh, and things do get even worse as Chameera has a bit of treatment on his shoulder that he landed awkwardly on while trying to take that juggling catch.

It's really interesting cricket, India have played some good shots but Sri Lanka have bowled well. There's been some movement, some have nipped back. Both batters are fortunate.

That would have been a fantastic catch, it fell out of his hand, it bounced back off his chest and he just can't hug it in.
