  1. SL 210-2published at 31 overs

Maheesh Theekshana returns for his sixth over as Bangladesh push for a couple of singles. They have broken the back of his chase so can afford to be patient.

Najmul Hossain Shanto thinks he has four with a drive down the ground, but some smart fielding on the rope claws the ball back and saves two runs.

    Thanks, Sam.

This is turning into a bit of a procession for Bangladesh. Has the Mathews timed out incident got to the Sri Lanka players? It seems that way. And now heads look to be dropping out in the field.

  3. 200 runs

    Ban 206-2published at 30 overs

    Target 280

Six followed by an elegant straight drive to bring up the 200.

Shakib Al Hasan is showing his full repertoire here.

He ends the over with another four down the ground, this time the lofted straight drive - almost played one handed. Superb.

Bangladesh are racing to victory and it's time for me to get my report in order. While I do that, Tom Mallows will take you through to the end of this one.

  4. 6 runs

    Ban 198-2published at 29.4 overs

    Target 280

Shakib Al Hasan might not be far behind!

He picks up a short ball from Kasun Rajitha and lifts it effortlessly over the long leg boundary for six.

  5. Ban 192-2published at 29.1 overs

    Target 280

Najmul Hossain Shanto cracks the ball through mid-wicket for four.

He's closing on a century and appears to determined to get there quickly!

The runs are flowing for Bangladesh and Sri Lanka seem unable to even slow them down, let alone create a chance to break this partnership.

It's up to 146 from 136 balls and neither Shakib Al Hasan or Najmul Hossain Shanto are done yet.

  7. Ban 185-2published at 28.2 overs

    Target 280

Back under way after drinks and Shakib Al Hasan picks up where he left off.

Width from Dushmantha Chameera and Shakib bludgeons it up and over cover. Four runs.

  8. drinks break

    Ban 181-2published at 28 overs

    Target 280

    Time for drinks in Delhi.

A chance for Sri Lanka to try and cool off, and figure out a way of clawing their way back into a game that is fast getting away from them.

  9. Ban 178-2published at 27.2 overs

    Target 280

Bangladesh are making light work of this chase.

Shakib Al Hasan finds the boundary again with a late cut that gets past backward point.

Too short and too wide from Maheesh Theekshana. Just too easy for Bangladesh at the moment.

The Sri Lanka players have got to stop pestering the umpires now. The captain can speak to them if there is an issue.

Yes, Sri Lanka were hard done by but the way they are carrying on, they need to put a lid on it and focus on the game.

Apologies if this point has already been made but, given all the time lost to drinks breaks, glove/bat changes etc... in the long form game, and there's no penalty for this, a two minute time limit on getting to the crease & ready to receive your first ball seems laughable in comparison.

That is as exquisite a pull shot as you are likely to see.

  13. Ban 173-2published at 27 overs

    Target 280

Short from Dushmantha Chameera and Shakib Al Hasan rocks back to pull it forcefully in front of square.

Four runs and the frustration of the Sri Lanka players grows.

  14. Ban 168-2published at 26.1 overs

    Target 280

We're back under way and I don't think the ball was changed in the end.

Sri Lanka, perhaps with some justification, feel as though they've not had the rub of the green today.

But it's still not a great look when so many of them are surrounding the umpires.

If there is an issue with the ball it is the captain's right to speak to the umpires, not the bowlers and certainly not six players to surround them.

This is an issue not just in cricket but in lots of sports.

Sri Lanka's players are now surrounding the umpires and they clearly have an issue with the ball.

It looks like they want it changed, the umpires have refused but they're not taking 'no' for an answer.

I don't think this is really about the state of the ball...

That shot gives you the feeling that maybe, just maybe, it will be Bangladesh's day today.

  18. Ban 168-2published at 26 overs

    Target 280

Four from the first ball of the over as Najmul Hossain Shanto sweeps Dhananjaya de Silva behind square.

To say it was mistimed is an understatement but there is still enough on it to beat short fine leg and run away to the sponge.

  19. 50 runs

50 for Shakib Al Hasanpublished at 25 overs

    Ban 161-2

The villain of the piece as far as Sri Lanka are concerned but Shakib Al Hasan is looking like being the hero for Bangladesh once more.

He brings up his half-century with a thick outside edge that flies down to deep third for four.

He had some luck early but Shakib is looking well in control now.
