That was a shot of disdain. It was smacked down the ground!

Unfortunately for us all, Angelo Mathews is out of the attack for now.

He's replaced by the rapid Dushmantha Chameera, who has struggled to look threatening so far today.

Najmul Hossain Shanto capitalises on a full delivery and crashes Chameera back down the ground for four more.

This partnership is worth 40 now.

Ladies and Gentlemen, Boys and Girls... it's nearly time for the battle we have all been waiting for Mathews vs Shakib.

I reckon there could be some words said in the drinks break.

Angelo Mathews probably hasn't enjoyed his day so far.

Shakib Al Hasan being dropped off his bowling probably didn't help his mood to be honest.

    What is going on?

We've got Sadeera Samarawickrama and Najmul Hossain Shanto having words now.

Umpire Richard Illingworth has to put his arm across Shanto to keep the pair apart.

When I rocked up this morning I didn't expect this game to get spicy.

I reckon Shakib might be strongly advised to stay in his ground at the non-striker’s end while Angelo is bowling here.

The battle we all want to see. Mathews vs Shakib. Shakib players with lots of emotions, he might not be able to control them. They have to run past each other every time.

Just a single from Angelo Mathews' second over.

There's plenty of noise being made by the crowd in Delhi, with lots of support for Sri Lanka.

The air quality doesn't seem to be affecting the players or spectators.

Shakib Al Hasan picks up another boundary with a splice over backward point.

That takes the left-hander past 7,500 one-day international runs. He's also taken more than 300 wickets.

Only Sri Lanka's Sanath Jayasuriya and Pakistan's Shahid Afridi have done that double before.

Has Shakib Al Hasan got somewhere to be? It's a shot a ball at the moment.

He latches onto another short ball from Dushmantha Chameera and he pulls it fine for six.

It's huge in the end, but there's plenty of risk attached to that shot.

How comfortable are you taking a batter's wicket in that time. Regardless of the law.

Twice the umpire asked if Shakib wants to uphold his appeal, and both times he said yes.

The Mathews thing - it's out. The Aussies, those paragons of virtue, have pointed out time and time again that the spirit of the game isn't a thing. So we're down to the rules, and the rules alone - so it is 100% out. Unarguable.

    Andy, Bremen.

If Mathews had decided to face the first ball without a helmet, and then after that called for a new one presumably that would have been fine because he has faced a ball. So considering he was ready in the time limit, it’s insane he has lost his wicket given he would have used up the time legitimately a ball later. Really poor sportsmanship and lack of interest in player safety, which has only been increasing in importance for years.

That is the 16th catch that Sri Lanka have dropped in this tournament.

Their success rate is only 64%, which puts them bottom on that metric.

England have the best catch completion rate so far at 85%.

    My word.

Shakib Al Hasan charges at Angelo Mathews again and he's dropped in the covers!

It's slapped straight at Charith Asalanka but he can't hold on.

There's a little shrug and grinding of the teeth from Mathews.

This is going to be more pantomime than anything.

Shakib Al Hasan has charged at his first ball from Angelo Mathews but misses with a swipe.

There's words from Mathews, but Shakib just walks away into the leg side.

    Eeeek.

    Brace yourselves.

Angelo Mathews is coming onto bowl.

He's rather unhappy, particularly with Bangladesh skipper Shakib Al Hasan, after making history for being the first batter in International cricket to be timed out earlier.

Shakib always seems to be involved. whether right, wrong or not. He's always there, in the centre of it.
