Fantastic diving stop from mid on by Dilshan Madushanka to deny Shakib Al Hasan another boundary.

The fast bowler has been excellent again but, as has been the case for much of this tournament, his fellow bowlers don't look half as threatening.

  2. Ban 153-2published at 24 overs

    Target 280

For anyone concerned that there is not a huge amount going on out there so far, it is worth saying it wasn't dissimilar at the same stage of the Sri Lanka innings.

The 25th over soon changed all that so let's see what happens...

That went very fine down the leg side.

The partnership goes to 99 from 98 balls after another productive over for Bangladesh.

Seven come from Dhananjaya de Silva's first over with Shakib Al Hasan thumping the ball to the deep mid-wicket boundary.

Bangladesh are finding the boundary with great regularity now. Sri Lanka are in dire need of a wicket.

    Thanks, Callum.

Bangladesh are in control with Najmul Hossain Shanto looking in good touch.

He gets to his half-century with the first of back-to-back boundaries off Angelo Mathews.

It's a firm pull shot to take him to the milestone from 58 balls before thumping the next ball to cow corner.

The problem with Bangladesh isn't in their skill set, it's in their ears and in their minds.

Sri Lanka know they need a wicket and Kusal Mendis returns to Dilshan Madushanka.

The left-armer can't provide it though and goes for two boundaries of his own.

The first Najmul Hossain Shanto, before Shakib Al Hasan pulls nicely between deep square leg and fine leg.

The required run-rate is down at 5.19. Sri Lanka need wickets.

This certainly one of the most encouraging batting performances that Bangladesh has had this year.

  15. Ban 108-2published at 18 overs

    Target 280

Batting looks really quite easy at the moment.

Najmul Hossain Shanto helps himself to back-to-back boundaries, through mid-wicket and then over mid-on.

WinViz has it 71-29 in Bangladesh's favour at the moment.

Cricket is a game where the umpire is really respected.

I think there has been a bit of tit for tat. But for Sri Lanka now they need to just focus.

Marais Erasmus, the umpire who decides to change the ball, has a conversation with Shakib Al Hasan about what has happened and why.

He seems happy to accept it.

He did say at the toss that he wanted to bat second because of the dew making it difficult for the fielding side in the second innings.

  18. Ban 95-2published at 16.3 overs

We've already got a ball change. It is only eight overs old.

There is that much dew out there in Delhi that the ball has swelled and the seam has started to come apart already.

That wasn't the most interesting shot, but it was the tactical play that made it.

Shakib Al Hasan has had a quiet tournament so far. Maybe he needed the Angelo Mathews dismissal from the first innings to get him going.

It certainly looks like it anyway.

He sweeps for four before driving through point for another boundary. He's up to 28 off 29 balls.
