  1. Afg 182-7published at 42 overs

The last ball of Phehlukwayo's over is driven crisply down the ground for four, but it probably shouldn't have been, because Temba Bavuma at mid-off couldn't get down with his injury.

That left Gerald Coetzee to put in a big chase but in vain, and that's frustrating for the bowler after a good start to the over.

Plenty of Afghanistan's players have got starts, but have been unable to kick on other than Azmatullah. Rashid Khan for 14 was the latest to depart.

Bavuma should not be on the field. He's limping to his fielding position.

  4. Afg 176-7published at 41 overs

Cheers, Sam. There are quite a few South Africa players hobbling out there. They must be looking forward to a few days off after this.

Kagiso Rabada almost gets the eighth wicket as Noor Ahmad chips one just over the head of Keshav Maharaj at cover, but just three runs come off the over in Rabada's usual consistent style.

  5. Afg 173-7published at 40 overs

A leg bye ends the over as Andile Phehlukwayo, ever the optimist, appeals for lbw when the ball was heading about two feet down leg.

Afghanistan have got 10 overs to drag themselves to a competitive total. To take you through them, it's over to Ffion Wynne.

  6. Afg 171-7published at 39.4 overs

Thick edge from Noor Ahmad as he pushes at a wide delivery from Andile Phehlukwayo.

No slip in place at this stage of the innings so the ball runs down to deep third for four.

Four more! Thumped back over the bowler's head by Azmatullah Omarzai!

Bavuma is struggling as he runs back there. He was hobbling - is he going to make it to the semi-final?

  8. Afg 162-7published at 39 overs

No wicket but another excellent over from Keshav Maharaj.

Azmatullah Omarzai sweeps him again but gets a big top-edge that loops up and into the gap behind square.

Temba Bavuma chases it down but is really struggling as he does so. Not a good sign for South Africa.

  9. Not outpublished at 38.2 overs

    Afg 160-7

It is a bump ball as Azmatullah Omarzai swept Keshav Maharaj. That saves us all a bit of time.

He's such a good fielder, Bavuma. He dived to his left and held the ball up.

  11. Umpire reviewpublished at 38.2 overs

    Afg 160-7

Here we go again. We're going to have another review for a catch after Temba Bavuma takes one low down at short fine leg.

They also need to check if it's a bump-ball. That would make it simpler and avoid the whole camera foreshortening debate...

  12. Afg 160-7published at 38 overs

Noor Ahmad is the new batter and, after a promising partnership comes to an end, more rebuilding is needed for Afghanistan.

Just a little bit of pace, cramped himself trying to pull that delivery. Slightly against the run of play, they'd been finding it pretty easy out there, but the partnership comes to an end.

  14. wicket

    WICKETpublished at 37.5 overs

    Rashid c De Kock b Phehlukwayo 14 (Afg 160-7)

    Short and edged behind!

Banged in by Andile Phehlukwayo and Rashid Khan attempts an unconvincing pull shot.

He was never really in position to play it and the ball flicks off the top edge.

A fifth catch in the innings for Quinton de Kock.

  15. Afg 157-6published at 37 overs

One of the shortest lbw appeals you'll ever see from South Africa as Rashid Khan attempts a big sweep off Keshav Maharaj.

He is right in front of the stumps but the split-second the Proteas go up, they realise the batter got a scratch on it.

Good job because he was plumb without it.

Azmat has had a good tournament with the bat and the ball, he found quite a lot of swing the other evening.

  17. 50 runs

50 for Azmatullah Omarzaipublished at 36.1 overs

    Afg 155-6

    That's a half-century for Azmatullah Omarzai!

A single eased down to long-on gets him there from 71 balls. It's been an important knock for his side.

The Afghanistan all-rounder has had a very good tournament and is finishing strong.

  18. Afg 154-6published at 36 overs

Afghanistan take four singles into the off side as Andile Phehlukwayo comes back on with Temba Bavuma shuffling his bowlers.

It feels like the batting side are just biding their time before trying to kick on late in the innings.

That final charge may have to be delayed for longer than usual given they're already six down.

  19. Afg 150-6published at 35 overs

Keshav Maharaj rattles through another over at the cost of a single.

The left-arm spinner has bowled eight overs now and has figures of 2-20. Excellent stuff.

It's a long way to go but I'm hoping South Africa get something like 230-240 to chase. I don't think we've seen the best of David Miller.
