The contrast between the to batters here is fascinating. Stokes is belting everything, Root is still flapping around like a naked man in a hurricane. Having said that, it's a good over from Wasim.

Joe Root has just gone past the 1,000-run mark for England in 50-over World Cups. He is the first England man to reach the milestone.

Babar Azam has an interesting technique to review. He makes a little T, rather than a big T.

It felt like it was going down.

Mohammad Wasim finds some in-swing to hit Joe Root on the pads. Surely too much?

He lost balance there but he still hit it for six. This is the best of Ben Stokes.

We saw it in the summer and we're seeing it in England's last World Cup match.

He's almost playing like everything must go at the moment. Stay tuned!

Oh yes! The reverse-sweep for six. Think the blow off Nathan Lyon into the Western Terrace at Headingley in 2019. It's classic Stokes. Watchful at first, then a flick of the switch. Everything must go.

I hear you, Mike. It's like finding the best restaurant on the last day of your holiday. Stokes has slipped the gears. Four down the ground off Agha Salman.

What an innings this has been. You just wish England had Ben Stokes at the start of the tournament, what a miss he has been.

That is a fine stroke. Mid-on is up in the circle so it is an area he can target and he did.

Stokes is starting to tick. He celebrates his half-century by lofting the returning Mohammad Wasim over long-on for six. Imperious stroke.

It is another half-century for Ben Stokes. England needed him fit and in-form at the start of the tournament. He's certainly in-form at the end of the tournament.

This is the perfect platform for England and they've got plenty of batters and power to come. This is exactly what England needed to be doing throughout the tournament. If they'd done this throughout it would have been a very different campaign for England.

Pakistan are bowling off-spin from both ends. Iftikhar loses his line to Stokes, who sweeps square and hard for four. He's on 46.
