    Deepti 19, Rana 10

England coach Jon Lewis is slouched back in his chair with his sunglasses on by the boundary. I reckon he'll be relatively content with the performance so far. It is a very flat pitch and England have battled hard. They haven't been at their best, however.

To Daniel from Huddersfield, was the answer to the anagram CHIPTASTE?

    Neill from Birmingham

  3. Ind 337-6published at 73 overs

I've been staring at Daniel's anagram for 10 minutes and I've still not got it. I haven't had much sleep in fairness.

Lauren Filer returns and immediately gets Sneh Rana in a tangle with a lively bouncer. The ball flies for four but that'll encourage more short stuff to be bowled to the all-rounder.

I've been on TV twice. Firstly went on Soccer AM's Take it Like a Fan in where, as a Huddersfield fan, I correctly answered questions on our opponents of the day, Oldham, to win £300. Also went on Countdown where I lost the game but guessed the conundrum in 1.25 seconds (the anagram was TASTECHIP).

  5. Not out - Ind 333-6published at 72 overs

    Not England's finest moment.

They have one review remaining now.

    There's an enormous inside edge!

  7. England reviewpublished at 10:07 Greenwich Mean Time 14 December 2023

Sophie Ecclestone fancies an lbw review against Deepti Sharma but doesn't have much support. Was there an inside edge? I thought so but eventually Ecclestone persuades Heather Knight to go for it.

  8. Ind 333-6published at 71.4 overs

Deepti Sharma seems to have decided sweeping England's two spinners is the way to go. First she connects with one to take four but then she misses and the ball bounces up to hit her grille.

On comes the physio for a concussion test.

  9. Ind 329-6published at 71 overs

A couple of people have been in touch to say I was wrong with my Diotoir suggestion. Dan seems to have ironed things out.

I'm not embarrassed to say I used to have miniature versions of some of the robots.

India nab some bonus runs courtesy of four byes as Deepti Sharma swings and misses on the sweep.

The original red and black leopard print was Nemesis, then I believe it was Diotoir. Used to love watching Robot Wars as a kid, definitely not watched every series more than once… Shame it’s not as well publicised as the US do it with Battlebots! My favourites were Razer and Chaos 2, both robots were well ahead of their time.

  11. Ind 324-6published at 70 overs

The over-rate is improving with Sophie Ecclestone and Charlie Dean in tandem. That is usually bad news for a live-texter but after a 3:15am alarm I won't complain.

I am also sure my chocolate advent calendar has developed eyes and is staring at me. It's never too early, right?

  12. Ind 324-6published at 69 overs

It's only just dawned on me that we've got a bit of Charlie Dean v Deepti Sharma again here - the two players involved in that infamous run-out at Lord's.

It has all been very calm so far.

Sophie Ecclestone whirls that recently repaired shoulder over for another maiden. A quick finish of the lower order would help England protect their most precious asset too.

  14. Ind 318-6published at 67 overs

    Deepti 5, Rana 5

England are into the bowling all-rounders with Sneh Rana now at the crease. Charlie Dean gifts her an easy start with a ball on the hip that is clipped down to the boundary at fine leg.

Otherwise it's a good, wicket-taking over for Charlie Dean who has 1-49 from 13 overs.

Lauren Bell holds on this time!

Bell dropped Bhatia on 15 but this time tosses the ball away in delight, with a grin as wide as the Bay of Bengal, as she takes the catch after a top edge from the left-hander.

  16. Ind 313-5published at 66 overs

    Two runs from the over.

David Warner is out too. This has been a lovely period for the England fan.

  17. Ind 311-5published at 65 overs

England turn the screw with a maiden from Charlie Dean. A few quick wickets here and they're right back in it.

A quick Google tells me the robot in question was Nemesis. I remember, even as a kid, thinking being so flammable was quite the design flaw.

I wonder if Harmanpreet Kaur is fiery with rage in the dressing room. That was such a poor way to get out.

What was the robot that had red and black leopard print fur that was always set on fire? I think that was my favourite.

That has to go down as bad running for me. Yes, the bat got stuck in the ground a little but it was all too casual.

England hardly even appealed the direct hit from extra cover by Wyatt. Harmanpreet Kaur wasn't even attempting a run, instead just wandering out and back again.

You could hear one of the England players in a shocked voice saying "this might be out!" when they saw the replays on the big screen as the situation dawned on them.
