On three occasions yesterday, India lost two quick wickets but each time, they were able to rebuild and withstand all of the pressure that England built.

England have got to do the same here but again, they are relying on the brilliance of Nat Sciver-Brunt to get them out of trouble.

She does often and does it very well, but it is a bit of a concern for England that it has to happen so frequently.

What did Nat Sciver-Brunt have on her breakfast dosa?

A second stunning drive in her first four deliveries reaches the fence. Another follows a ball later, although this one is a little edgier.

    10 from the over.

So England once again need an innings from Nat Sciver-Brunt. I think, just maybe, we might have been here before.

The all-rounder gets off the mark with a glorious straight drive.

It's umpire's call on impact but that's good enough for India. Heather Knight is out. England are in trouble.

All that can save Heather Knight is if she has got outside of the line of off stump.

    I don't think she has.

This one is surely out, though!?

Heather Knight is hit on the pad bang in front. She reviews but more in desperation I think.

And right on cue, Heather Knight eases a cover drive for four off Pooja Vastrakar.

Heather Knight loves to free the arms and unfurl a cover drive. This graphic shows the sweet spots where she likes to score her runs in Test cricket.

The over ends with four byes as Yastika Bhatia fails to gather the ball behind the stumps. Lunch is at 6:00 GMT, by the way.

It may have hit pad before bat but it has still done so a foot outside off stump.

    Not out. Not even close.

    It has, you know...

  12. India reviewpublished at 6.5 overs

Harmanpreet Kaur has been persuaded into an lbw review against Tammy Beaumont.

India think this has hit pad before bat and she plopped forward in defence.

There are more yelps as Heather Knight almost inside edges onto her stumps. I'm worried the India fielders are going to wake my girlfriend up before long.

The pressure really is on England right now. We have seen this sort of cricket in India so many times before in the men's game.

Heather Knight scored one of the best hundreds I've seen in the 2021-22 Ashes Test. She has been a little short of runs recently, mind.

There's more buzz and enthusiasm from Indians as Jemimah Rodrigues dives excellently to deny Tammy Beaumont runs.

Rodrigues is quickly surrounded by team-mates giving her a pat on the back.

The India players are up for this. They all cheer and chirp after what was a regulation leave from Heather Knight.

    Gulp. What was I saying?

That technical flaw in Sophia Dunkley's game is shown once again as she is bowled by an inswinger from Renuka Singh.

  18. How's stat?!published at 05:01 Greenwich Mean Time 15 December 2023

Sophia Dunkley is such a leg-side dominant player - in Test cricket, 64% of her runs have come through the leg side.

  19. Eng 13-0published at 2.2 overs

Sophia Dunkley, despite her closed bat face, immediately looks more comfortable against pace. She drives four down the ground and then digs out a yorker which runs away too.

  20. Eng 5-0published at 2 overs

There's a lot of chatter for Sophia Dunkley to block out as she faces up for the first time. Her response to the spin is to get down on one knee and paddle a sweep around the corner.
