Deepti Sharma comes back into the attack and strikes second ball!

It's a full ball around off stump from the off-spinner, Danni Wyatt pushes forward to defend but it turns to find the inside edge.

The ball bounces off the pad and Jemimah Rodrigues is there to take the catch at short leg.

Pakistan fast bowler Aamer Jamal celebrates against Australia, having taken figures of 6-111 on debut in Perth

The evening session has just started on day two in Perth, where Pakistan are 43-0 in their first Test against Australia.

The tourists find themselves chasing down Australia's first-innings score of 487, helped by big scores from David Warner (164) and Mitchell Marsh (90).

While Pakistan's bowlers struggled, debutant Aamer Jamal did return figures of 6-111.

You can listen to full live commentary from Perth via BBC Radio 5 Live Sports Extra and on the BBC Sports website and BBC Sounds App.

Just a single from the last three balls of the over but Danni Wyatt is clearly starting to get into her stride.

She lofts a drive over the infield and it reaches the fielder in the deep on the bounce.

  4. 100 runs

    Eng 107-3published at 24.3 overs

There is a fielder back on the off side but that makes no odds to Danni Wyatt as she thumps the ball off the back foot, in front of square, to find the boundary.

A super shot to bring up the 100 for England.

Wyatt adds four more a couple of balls later, whipping this one past mid-wicket.

  5. Eng 99-3published at 24 overs

Nat Sciver-Brunt keeps England ticking over with a pair of twos from Renuka Singh's latest.

That takes her to 49, while England are now one shy of three figures.

  6. Not outpublished at 23 overs

    Eng 95-3

    Yep, there's an inside edge.

Danni Wyatt knew it and she survives. She'll be glad of that, especially having middled a sumptuous cover drive for four earlier in the over.

  7. England reviewpublished at 23 overs

Big moment as Danni Wyatt is given out lbw off Pooja Vastrakar.

She reviews immediately which usually means bat was involved. England will hope so...

  8. Eng 89-3published at 22 overs

A useful over for England as Renuka Singh helps them out with a ball that swings down leg, beats Yastika Bhatia behind the stumps and runs away for four byes.

It looks like they're going to get four more to end the over but Danni Wyatt's under-edge is cut off at fine leg. Six from the over.

  9. Eng 83-3published at 21 overs

England may be in a tight spot but Danni Wyatt doesn't seem to be feeling the pressure as she gets off the mark by ramping Pooja Vastrakar over the slips for four.

  10. Eng 79-3published at 20 overs

Maiden over from Renuka Singh as Nat Sciver-Brunt takes a bit of time to try and get her eye in again after lunch.

England cannot afford to take too many risks at the moment, especially given they have quite a long tail.

Sophie Ecclestone is certainly not a tailender but she is carded to come in at seven which seems a spot or two higher than you'd expect.

  11. Eng 79-3published at 19 overs

Danni Wyatt is the new batter for England, who are in desperate need of a partnership here.

India have made plenty of noise in the field throughout the innings but it has gone up a couple of notches with that wicket.

  12. wicket

Beaumont run out (Vastrakar)10 (Eng 79-3)

Direct hit and Tammy Beaumont is gone! Not the start that England wanted after lunch but it's excellent fielding.

Nat Sciver-Brunt nudged the ball to leg and called for the single. It was always going to be tight but it looked like it was on.

However, Beaumont is a little hesitant and that costs her as Pooja Vastrakar swoops and throws in one smooth motion.

Just one stump to aim at but she hits and, despite a dive, Beaumont is gone.

  13. How's stat?!published at 06:54 Greenwich Mean Time 15 December 2023

Tammy Beaumont is watchful early on here, which is not surprising considering her ODI struggles in India. In 10 matches, she averages 20 and has never passed 50. In T20 cricket, she only has two half-centuries in India, at an average of 30.

  14. Eng 75-2published at 18 overs

Edged... and just short of first slip.

Renuka Singh gets things started from the other end and her first ball is a beauty, tempting Nat Sciver-Brunt to play just outside off and finding the edge.

A genuine edge, NSB looks back nervously but the ball drops millimetres short of Sneh Rana.

England's wonderwoman survives and works the next ball to leg for three.

As an aside, just the mention of Brian Lara Cricket brings back good memories of hours wasted/ time well spent in my youth.

Nat Sciver-Brunt is – again – making cricket look far too easy. There was a cheat code on Brian Lara Cricket back in the day where if you typed SUPERMAN it made your players ridiculously good. Might I suggest WONDERWOMAN has been inputted at some point?

Tammy Beaumont holds the record for the highest score for a player in a Women's Test who finished on the losing side - her 230 last summer against Australia coming in an unsuccessful cause.

    Lovely shot.

Tammy Beaumont got tied down before lunch and seems determined not to let the same happen again.

She skips down to Rajeshwari Gayakwad and chips the ball over mid-on for four.

Rajeshwari Gayakwad is bowling the first over of the session and Nat Sciver-Brunt is on strike.

OK, we're fast approaching the start of the afternoon session.

England have got a lot of work to do with the bat to get anywhere close to first-innings parity.

India will know a wicket or two early in the session and they'll be well on top.

I'll make sure I pass that on to Matt, Suresh.

He's currently on the hunt for some milk for his cereal so if he has to pop out then I'm sure he can grab a Christmas card as well.
