More worrying signs as Jack Leach gets one to keep very, very low and it skids through Ben Foakes' legs and away for four byes.

Add uneven bounce to the spin, and England are in trouble.

The last couple of Indian wickets is a good indication of what can happen if you bowl a few quiet overs.

You put pressure on the batters and you expect them to do something differently. That's why I think the England bowlers haven't been good enough in stringing together a few good overs.

But with Jack Leach and Joe Root together, this is a good phase as far as England is concerned.

Joe Root is showing why he can be England's third spinner in the next Test match in order for them to play two seamers and balance the attack a little bit better.

And another Joe Root maiden. Think we'll stick to the great potato debate.

What about crisps?! Surely the ELITE form of potato.

    Alice in Surrey

Parmentier potatoes (fried cubed potatoes) have to be top 5. Especially with a bit of rosemary, garlic and rock salt.

Surely Bombay Potatoes need to get a mention?!

Usman Khawaja has found a good partner in captain Pat Cummins as Australia dig themselves out of a hole against West Indies in Brisbane.

The hosts are now 232-7 in reply to the Windies' 311, having been 54-5 and 161-7.

Khawaja is unbeaten on 70 and Cummins 38 not out.

Everyone knows that the interloper that is the hash brown has no place on a breakfast. Fried bread every time

The lack of appreciation for croquette potatoes is a scandal.

Axar Patel gets off the mark with a boundary first ball, as Rehan Ahmed's tumbling dive is in vain.

He's also a very handy batter so I doubt we'll see Jadeja going full Ben Stokes yet in terms of batting with the tail.

Ashwin run out Hartley 1 (Ind 358-7)

    A gift!

Ravichandran Ashwin dabs into the covers and sets off immediately. But Jadeja is ball-watching at the other end and doesn't see his partner hurtling towards him.

Both batters end up at the same end and it's Ashwin who has to depart.

A complete mix-up and a big mistake but England won't mind how they come. Axar Patel is the next man in.

Can we ban Anon from TMS who is suggesting "hash brown should ever be served in breakfast" I absolutely love Hash brown and can't hear anything against it.

    Raj from Surrey

No wonder the person against hash browns wrote ‘Anon’ with such a terrible opinion

Big over from Joe Root. Ravichandran Ashwin strides to the middle - he may be in at eight but he is certainly capable with the bat. England still have their work cut out.

The pressure finally tells for Bharat as he looked to move the scoreboard on after being tied down for a little while.

It's one that goes underneath his bat, but the concern for England there is the fact the ball almost bounced twice before getting to the stumps. So the pitch is only getting worse and this India lead is significant.

    Bharat lbw b Root 41 (Ind 356-6)

    Got 'im!

Just as KS Bharat was starting to grow in confidence, he misses an attempted slog sweep and is struck on the back leg by Root.

The review is wasted and that is a deserved second wicket for by far England's best bowler today.

    Let's try this again.

Joe Root gets another decision his way, after being whacked for four by Bharat from his first ball.

The batter reviews it, but not quite as convincingly as Jadeja did for the last one. Let's see...

No-one partial to some duchess potatoes ? Used to love them as a kid. I mean roast mashed potatoes, c'mon!

Boulangere potatoes- less middle class, just as tasty. Old school French village cooking!

That opinion has sparked outrage in our group chat, while Jack Leach continues to bowl economically but still with little threat.
