Joe Root shadow-bats his way to the middle.

India must reckon this ball is reverse swinging because Mohammed Siraj is coming on for just his second spell of the match.

A huge wicket, the way that Ben Duckett was batting. It seemed like the India batters were feeling the pressure but the most relieved man out there will be KS Bharat after that missed review!

Jasprit Bumrah is fired up! It was all going England's way but the superstar seamer has ignited the crowd by knocking over Ben Duckett's stumps.

    Now, what have England got?

England must keep thinking that if they can win this session, having already won the first one, that they're back in the game.

Now there's a misfield at extra cover which gives Ben Duckett four more.

Things are not going India's way.

The other thing that England's batters have done well is use their reach, whether it is on the sweep or driving. The footwork has been very, very decisive with the stride forward.

In the last series here, a lot of England batters were caught on the crease but that hasn't been the case here. They have got forward, especially when sweeping, to reach the pitch of the ball and get on top of the bounce.

Rohit came straight in to speak to wicketkeeper KS Bharat to discuss that review. It looks like it was Bharat who turned it down.

Rohit's expression rarely changes but even he looks upset.

England have got away with one there! Look at Bumrah's reaction - that just goes to show that England are on top.

He's shaking his head and hitting the ground. England are playing well here, Ollie Pope is confidently using his feet to the spinners.

They've just shown the three reds on the big screen. The crowd know, India know and Duckett knows. Bumrah has his hands on his head.

That last appeal? Had India reviewed, it would have been out!

They've just shown it on the big screen and Bumrah now has his hands on his head.

Andy Flower was a fantastic sweeper of the ball, as was Carl Hooper. They were two of the best sweepers I bowled to.

As a spinner, it really messes with your lengths. It was like they could sweep every ball, whether it was off stump or leg stump and it messes with your mind.

It completely messes with what you're trying to do so you've got to stay strong with your plan, try and hit them on the pads and get them lbw.

England have halved their deficit now and the supporters in the stands, led by the trumpeter, have broken into Living on a Prayer - wooahh, we're halfway there etc etc.

This may be a spinner's pitch but Bumrah still looks difficult to play as his last ball hoops in to Ben Duckett and hits pad. There's a big appeal but no review after the umpire shakes his head.

It was a brilliant first session for England. I thought the Indian bowlers were under serious pressure for the first time and looked a little rattled.

The break might have helped settle them down. The first 15-20 minutes is crucial.

England's deficit is immediately brought below 100 as Ollie Pope and Ben Duckett sweep and reverse sweep their way to five more runs.

Zak Crawley's Test record in Asia is a real tale of two disciplines. Against pace, he averages 115 in 12 innings whereas against spin it's 12 in 15. Doesn't bode well, does it?
