Big call before a ball is bowled but India look very vulnerable. There is real pressure on Rohit to lead the batting line up, but it was a good toss to win.

Well, Alan, I think that's the perfect note to get ready for the day's play.

Here come Rohit Sharma and Yashasvi Jaiswal. It'll take a lot to live up to last week, but if any team can do it, it's this one.

    Strap yourselves in.

The injury to Ravindra Jadeja has really upset the balance of the India side. That will only add to England's confidence.

And on India, not only are they 1-0 down in the series (having thrown away a 190-run lead, no less) but they have also been dealt some injury blows to navigate.

Both KL Rahul and Ravindra Jadeja made scores of 80 plus in India's first-innings in Hyderabad. They are two of the side's most experienced batters, senior figures for Rohit Sharma to turn to while Jadeja is a world-class spinner and one of the game's greatest fielders.

They have called up Rajat Patidar, Kuldeep Yadav and Mukesh Kumar as the three changes, but you feel like Jadeja's loss in particular could be the difference - his brilliance in all three aspects of the game makes him pretty much irreplaceable.

Shoaib Bashir’s main attribute is that he spins the ball very hard, which is something Graeme Swann was a big advocate of.

Early in your career if you can spin the ball then the control and discipline can be taught.

He’s tall and he’s got some very natural attributes that will help.

When I faced him I was impressed by the fact that he didn’t bowl that many bad balls. He had control and he liked the contest.

Shoaib Bashir is England's latest debutant - and the three spinners to debut under Ben Stokes and Brendon McCullum so far have all taken five-wicket hauls in their first outing. So, no pressure then.

His name surprised pretty much everyone once the squad was announced, given he has only played six first-class games. Even Ben Stokes admitted the other day that he first saw him bowling in a clip on social media.

Here are the youngster's numbers so far.

England captain Ben Stokes on TNT Sports: "Yeah, we would have had a bat.

"It was a great week but we've got that out of our minds now. We know that India will come back hard at us. It's a new week, a new game.

"To come from behind like we did was very pleasing, and we will take the confidence from that into this week but we are starting again.

"I think coming out to India is an experience in itself. They love the game, the noise, the opportunity that it presents to our guys at such a young age will be great for them in the long run."

India captain Rohit Sharma on TNT Sports: "It looks a good pitch. The pitch is going to do its thing, we've just got to play good cricket throughout the game.

"It is important that we take some positives out of it [the first Test] but then quickly move on. We've spoke about some things that we need to do and hopefully we can execute those plans. We need to just play our best cricket across five days. We didn't show the same intent with the bat in the second innings in Hyderabad. Hopefully we can correct our errors and not repeat them.

"Injuries are part and parcel of the game and we understand when we play so many games there will be injuries. Hopefully the guys on the bench can make the most of their opportunity.

"We've got two enforced changes and then Mohammed Siraj is rested too because of how much cricket he's played in the past six months. Kuldeep Yadav and Mukesh Kumar come in, plus Rajat Patidar for his debut."
