England have already laid a platform with 67-1. Now it's about breaking that 332 runs into chunks, and ticking off one target at a time.

It's going to be a gripping day. Yesterday had everything you could want in a day of Test cricket so hopefully today is the same.

We're almost ready for day four.

How will the pair, particularly Ahmed, approach it?

England assistant coach Paul Collingwood on TNT Sports: "The guys are excited, I think the way this team has played over the past couple of years has shown they are capable of very special things and special performances.

"When you come to India and you have a fourth-innings chase, history will tell you it's difficult but some of the chases this team has achieved are phenomenal so there is a lot of excitement that this can be done. It's a small ground, a fast outfield and it's about having something like a one-day mentality and putting their bowlers under pressure.

"In the dressing room the language is always positive and as a batting unit, we'll soak up pressure when we need to but when you get a chance to put that pressure back on, take it.

"There is a lot of skill in that dressing room and a belief that they can do something special. The series has been incredible to watch so far, the two teams approach things very differently but that's OK, that's Test cricket."

    • Their record chase in India is 208-4, when chasing 207, in December 1972

James Anderson says India are nervous about England pulling off another chase.

England resume on 67-1 this morning, in pursuit of 399, which would be a record for England, against India and by any team in this country.

England overhauled 378 against India in 2022, one of five successful chases in excess of 250 in the past two years.

"The nerves were there to see," said Anderson. "They didn't know how many was enough.

"They were quite cautious, even when they had a big lead.

"The chat last night from the coach was that if they get 600, we were going to go for it. It makes it very clear to everyone that we will try to do it."

It's going to be entertaining, that's for sure.

It looks highly improbable, it's never happened before, but that doesn't mean it's not going to happen or it's impossible.

I'm going to put it somewhere in the outskirts in the realms of possibility.

It's got to the stage where you're almost too scared to write England off because of what they've done so far.

They are going to have that find that line again between being positive and being reckless.
