He's taken off his helmet to reveal his bold new hair.
It's not obvious what that was all about but he's going to continue.

Root 86, Robinson 6
Joe Root clearly trusts Ollie Robinson's batting. It has been old school Root today without many extravagant shots but I wondered whether a few would come with the tail. Not so far.
That's another over from the dangerous Siraj ticked off, albeit with a risky single off the last.
Mohammed Siraj is going to bowl another after drinks as the sun peeks back out.
Hello! The ball slips out of Ravindra Jadeja's hand and gets to Ollie Robinson at chest height. Robinson does well to get anything on it and actually clubs it away for four to take England's score beyond 250.
Drinks are coming onto the field with around an hour to go.

Can't believe how happy I am to see Root get some runs finally. He's had so much unnecessary stick the past few weeks. Please go and get your 100 and make my Friday even better.

Root 82, Robinson 1
What has been a largely mild-mannered series could go up a notch with Ollie Robinson's first entrance into the fray. Mohammed Siraj doesn't mind a tussle either and he shapes to throw the ball back at the England bowler after a defensive block.
Good fun.
Ollie Robinson joins Joe Root in the middle. He isn't one to hang around.
Hartley b Siraj 13 (Eng 245-7)
An absolute beauty.
Mohammed Siraj, from round the wicket, gets the ball to angle in and then move away to beat the bat and hit off stump.
Hartley pulls a face and nods as if to say "too good".
Root 82, Hartley 9
Tom Hartley comes down the pitch again and drills one into Ravichandran Ashwin's boot. The ball deflects to debutant Akash Deep and there's a chance of a run-out but Deep cannot collect cleanly.
He hasn't done much wrong today.

The Root-Foakes stand, 113 in 43.3 overs at 2.59 per over, is the 85th stand of 50+ since Ben Stokes and Brendon McCullum took over in 2022 - and the first of those 85 that has been scored at below three per over.
Root 82, Hartley 8
Mohammed Siraj is still plugging away impressively and is trying to get Root lbw. Root is a little late in getting down on one of the inswingers and gives himself a talking to afterwards.
The India fielders were all ready to appeal.

Former England captain
You feel England are creeping themselves into a very competitive first innings. 275/300 looks a par score.
I'm not sure Tom Hartley knew he had hit that but he did.
Ooooo. There's a spike!
But Hartley is trapped lbw next ball!
Joe Root persuades him to review.
Clipping leg, I reckon.
Bosh.
Tom Hartley has been battling out there and now decides to go into the attacking mode we have seen previously in the series.
He takes a step down to Ashwin and cracks him over the boundary.
Root moves into the eighties with another single but there's little opportunity to score with Siraj in the middle of a good spell.
It seems quite gloomy too. The sun sets earlier in this part of India, of course.
Root 79, Hartley 1
The Australians have won, by the way. New Zealand have been knocked over for 102 in that second T20 and I'll leave it at that.
Joe Root has kept the funky shots to a minimum today but a reverse sweep off Ashwin gets him a couple.
Ben Foakes has swapped out of his playing kit and, looking rather sweaty, is looking over the replays on a screen.
Moahmmed Siraj has just got the ball reverse swinging and that may have contributed to his downfall.
Tom Hartley is struggling to get going against it.
If all of the eyes weren't already on Joe Root, they are now after that wicket. He is tasked with dragging England as close to 300 as he can.
The former captain tries to steal the strike at the end of this latest over, almost causing a mix-up and a run-out.
