It's difficult to know how England will feel at lunch.

There was plenty of movement for India in the opening hour and a little bit of variable bounce but England fought their way through that.

A total of 100-2 at lunch is OK, but from 64-0 they might be a little disappointed. Especially by the nature of Ben Duckett's dismissal, which was a pretty rash shot off Kuldeep Yadav.

    Thanks Ffion.

It's time for Zak Crawley to go big, isn't it?

England negotiated the early parts really well, with plays and misses the story of the first hour.

It has been a really good session of cricket.

England will be disappointed with Ollie Pope getting out on the stroke of lunch but with the amount of swing that India found in the first hour or so then England will say they did quite well to only lose two wickets.

    Zak Crawley was excellent.

Well, it's been yet another captivating session and one that has followed the general trajectory of the series so far.

India bowled well, but England's openers withstood it. Crawley and Duckett built a solid partnership before India fought back through their magnificent spinners and a bit of help from some poor shots.

England have had good starts and two soft dismissals. Very familiar.

What a beautiful piece of bowling from Kuldeep. Ollie Pope literally ran past it. He didn't pick it. There was just a little bit of turn and well bowled.

Pope st Jurel b Kuldeep 11 (Eng 100-2)

A wicket on the stroke of lunch!

Ollie Pope completely misjudges one from Kuldeep Yadav, skipping down the pitch and looking to nudge the ball into the leg side. But he plays down the wrong line, is utterly deceived and Dhruv Jurel does the rest.

India take the momentum into the break.

Great use of the feet from Zak Crawley. That has gone a long way. He is looking to put a bit of pressure on Ashwin and not letting him settle. He's looking to hit boundaries and rotate the strike.

    Eng 99-1published at 25 overs

    First of the day!

Full of confidence, Zak Crawley lofts Ashwin straight down the ground for six.

And caught in the crowd, too. Excellent cricket all around.

Zak Crawley has looked the best English batter in this series by far. This is another super knock.

Well played, Zak Crawley. He is looking to be positive against the spin bowlers without going over the top.

He's had a good series, without really going on to get the big one. We know he's got it in the locker, will today be the day?

Drilled straight down the ground for four and a lovely way to reach yet another half-century for Zak Crawley.

It's his fourth of the series and he's played beautifully.

After the first Test Ollie Pope has got out to the spinner playing off the back foot and that has been the plan against him by India.

  16. Eng 84-1published at 23 overs

Ollie Pope clips nicely off his pads for three, denied a boundary by a fabulous diving save from debutant Devdutt Padikkal.

Zak Crawley then opens the face of the bat and lofts Ashwin for four more over cover. He looks in great touch. He's made plenty of starts this series without getting that big century - is today the day?

  17. Eng 75-1published at 22 overs

Kuldeep Yadav looks in disbelief, as if he can't believe he's spun a ball that much.

Zak Crawley responds with his characteristic cover drive for four. Lovely.

That was close. Kuldeep Yadav does everything that you're meant to do as a spin bowler, he just span it too much. It was a good piece of bowling. It looks a decent pitch, though.
