    Women's sprint

The main British story tonight is Emma Finucane claiming her first major title as she took gold in the women's sprint.

Finucane put in superb ride to beat Germany's Lea Friedrich in the first two races of their best-of-three final.

The 20-year-old was also part of the British team to take silver in the women's team sprint.

Finucane becomes the first British winner in the discipline since Becky James' triumph in Minsk in 2013.

Sadly today wasn't her day, but I think Katie Archibald will reflect and think 'I'm glad I am here to show Glasgow what I am made of'.

She is so determined and is the full package in her legs. But it is emotionally draining as well.

    Women's omnium - points race

The omnium riders carry their points from the previous three events in to the points race, which lasts for 80 laps.

Sprints take place every 10 laps, which award points to the top four riders - five points, then three, two and one.

Lapping the field crucially bags you 20 points and, in the final sprint, the points are doubled.

All the big names were watching each other and Quintero timed it to perfection. Lavreysen was a bit nervous and even for the machine he is, three laps out is too far.

It was an incredible performance from Quintero. It is such a shame for Jack Carlin, I felt that he was on the cusp of something special this week. He is going to have to wait until Paris.

    Men's keirin final

Jack Carlin has to veer up the track to make sure he doesn't go past the derny before it pulls away. Although the Briton hit the front, that move ultimately seemed to cost him some momentum.

Then with half a lap left, Colombia's Kevin Quintero found another gear to leave his rivals for dead, even raising his first to salute the Glasgow crowd as he crossed the line.

That's a first international gold for the 24-year-old and denies Harrie Lavreysen a fourth straight world gold.

    Men's keirin final

    Sir Chris Hoy
Six-time Olympic cycling champion on BBC TV

Any of the top six could win this race. Harrie Lavreysen has shown he is vulnerable. He has not tried to win every round.

If Jack Carlin can ride his own race and focus on his own game plan he has a great chance of a podium and even winning it.
