Double 16 finishes a 13-dart leg to seal the match - and that is some statement performance from world number one Luke Humphries.

An absolute destruction of a very much in-form Stephen Bunting.

    The story of the match.

Stephen Bunting is having to feed off scraps - but he can't digest them.

One dart at tops to hold his throw, it's just a fraction over - and Luke Humphries punishes the miss with double 16.

One leg away from the semis.

Stephen Bunting has been slightly below par, particularly on his finishing - but few can live with Luke Humphries in this sort of form.

A triple-figure average and deadly on the doubles, his finishing ratio improved to over 50% by taking out double 16 with one dart to stretch his lead to six legs.

Just two more needed, surely an unassailable lead now.

    Bunting 2-7 Humphries

Ooh, the seventh dart is millimetres below the treble 20 as the crowd groans in disappointment.

Luke Humphries shakes it off to dish up on double 16. An 11-dart leg and he's averaging over 105 in this match. Sensational stuff.

All the news coverage claiming Littler is the favourite when Humphries is still in the tournament is plain disrespectful. I understand Littler's popularity and the massive positive boost he has personally given the game, but how can anyone other than Humphries, the world champion and world ranked number one, be favourite?

    Chris, via WhatsApp

It's the bookmakers making the odds, Chris. But personally I agree with you - given all his accolades, Humphries really should be the favourite to lift the title tonight. And he's showing why...

Luke Humphries' lead is back to four legs and it's a comfortable enough hold, with the world champ taking out 65 with the minimum of fuss.

First to 10 legs goes through to tonight's semi-finals.

They're back out from their short break and the English pair swap legs at the start of the second mini-session of this first quarter-final.

Two holds of throw since the resumption.

I'm going to Butlin's in Minehead later this month for a family break.

The darts will be long gone by then sadly. The Masked Singer is on though, so my wife and daughter tell me. They are giddy with excitement at the thought.

Me? Well, only if Luke Littler dresses up as a kebab and belts out Teenage Kicks. That I can get on board with.

Butlin's in Minehead is the venue for this weekend's tournament.

Not quite the Alexandra Palace but it's been packed out for every session.

And it looks absolutely rammed today.

The punters will be hoping for a Stephen Bunting fightback to make this first quarter-final a tad less one-sided than it's been thus far.

That was a big leg for Stephen Bunting, a tree-trunk sized leg.

And he wins it, finally landing a double on his sixth attempt of the match so far, as he nails tops to stop the rot.

These are worrying times for Stephen. If he loses his throw here to go 5-0 down at the first interval, his race might be run, you feel.

Cool Hand hits a 140 to leave double four for a 4-0 lead - but, oh, he busts, missing doubles four, two and one.

But Stephen Bunting can't hit tops - and Humphries lands a double on his fourth attempt.

A 14-dart leg capped by double 20 and Luke Humphries breaks throw for a second time.

He's the world number one for a reason - and he's playing like it.

It was a leg that was looking pretty grim for Luke, but he finds the ton-plus finish and there's a bit of daylight early in our first quarter-final.

Fancy dress always popular at the darts - and even more so given we're at Butlin's.

Just seen a bunch of Super Mario characters - and Stephen Bunting misses a chance to plumb that early leak, missing three chances at a double.

Luke Humphries punishes him, as world champions do, needing just one dart at double 16 to take out 108 and double his lead.

Goodness me, nearly starting with a bang.

Luke Humphries goes close to a big 164 finish, landing two treble 19s but missing the bullseye by millimetres.

He still takes out double four next visit to break throw in the opening leg.

Here we go. The first quarter-final is under way.

All of the last-eight ties are best of 19 legs.

And both players kick off with a 140 - setting the bar high.

    Bunting v Humphries

I always like the battle of the walk-on music.

Titanium is a slightly confusing one for Stephen Bunting. He's 'The Bullet' but one of the lyrics is "bulletproof".

World number one Luke Humphries is the one hoping he'll be bulletproof, surely?

Anyway, out comes the world champ to 'Cake by the Ocean' - especially fitting given we're near the seaside in Minehead. 1-0 to Humphries for me when it comes to the walk-ons.

As always, we want to hear your thoughts on today's action.

Is Luke Littler going to continue his meteoric rise to stardom by claiming a first major PDC ranking title at the tender age of 17?

If not, who are you backing to lift the trophy at Butlin's, Minehead tonight?

It would be some achievement if Littler does it - he's six years junior than the current youngest PDC major champ, Michael van Gerwen, who won the World Grand Prix aged 23 in 2012.
