    Heta 2-2 Littler

Five perfect darts to start leg four from the Aussie.

No nine-darter - but it is an 11-dart leg from Heta, finished with double 19.

    Ridiculous arrows from both players.

  2. Postpublished at 14:59 Greenwich Mean Time 3 March

    Heta 1-2 Littler

Massive pressure from Damon Heta on the Littler throw.

It means the 17-year-old simply has to take out double 14 to hold - so he does. First dart.

Amazing darts from both players here. What a start!

    Heta 1-1 Littler

Luke Littler takes the first leg - and is on a nine-darter in the second after six darts.

But he can't convert and Heta levels via double four.

    Heta 0-0 Littler

Luke Littler absolutely not bothered by those walk-on frolics.

Smashes in a 180 to kick this quarter-final off.

Damon Heta's walk-on needs to be seen to be believed.

He has a huge foam flame hat on, living up to his nickname of 'The Heat'.

He has the crowd singing along to his 'Stand By Me' entrance song too.

    Has he won them over?

    Heta v Littler

A reminder that the youngest ever winner of a PDC major is Michael van Gerwen, who lifted the World Grand Prix title aged 23 in 2012.

Luke Littler is six years younger than that - and he's three wins away from smashing that record and setting a mark that will surely never be beaten.

The darting equivalent of the Ashes? Damon Heta even rocks the handlebar moustache a la Merv Hughes.

Aussie Heta has risen through the ranks in recent years, currently on the fringes of the world's top 10, and he's already taken out former UK Open champ Nathan Aspinall this weekend.

But he might be well advised to employ some earbuds this afternoon - he's hardly going to be the crowd favourite against darts' new darling Luke Littler, is he?

Littler has been pushed by James Wade, Germany's Martin Schindler and Dave Chisnall this weekend - some tough draws there - but the 17-year-old is once again at the business end of a big PDC event.

  10. Evans 'found a way to win'published at 14:50 Greenwich Mean Time 3 March

    Result: Evans 10-7 Cross

    Mark Webster
Former BDO world champion on ITV4

It was a scrap but for Ricky to win that game it needed to get a bit messy.

He held himself together but Rob didn't play like he can and he will be disappointed.

But for Ricky he got over the line, we've always questioned him in these big games but he found a way to win.

He's in a semi-final, he's a popular guy and he just needs to believe in himself.

  11. Evans 'on cloud 10' after quarter-final winpublished at 14:49 Greenwich Mean Time 3 March

    Result: Evans 10-7 Cross

Ricky Evans, speaking to ITV4 after beating Rob Cross 10-7 to reach the UK Open semi-finals:

    "I don't know what it was, I just couldn't hit the treble 20. I couldn't care right now - I'm on cloud 10, it's better than nine.

"I'm just a happy-go-lucky guy, every defeat makes you a better person and I've had enough of those.

"I'm not here to lose, I'm a hard draw for most people. I'm chuffed to bits, and on my sister's birthday as well, so that's a present for her."

    Result: Evans 10-7 Cross

Ricky Evans hugely emotional on the Minehead stage as he soaks in the applause and chants of 'there's only one Ricky Evans'.

Close to tears and it's understandable from the underdog.

    Double one!

The finish known as 'madhouse' - and a fitting way to end a pretty madcap quarter-final that saw both players miss a ridiculous amount of darts at double.

But Evans won't care - he lands the smallest fish on the board to give himself huge fish to fry, into the semi-finals of a major PDC tournament for the first time in his career.

  14. Postpublished at 14:40 Greenwich Mean Time 3 March

    Evans 9-7 Cross

Ooh, he did not keep his cool, two more missed darts at double.

But Rob Cross misses two more as well!

Goodness, Evans is errant with three at double five. And Cross misses three more!

    What is going on?

  15. Postpublished at 14:38 Greenwich Mean Time 3 March

    Evans 9-7 Cross

Rob Cross hits a 27 and turns away in disgust.

He's almost handed this leg to Ricky Evans, who just needs to keep his cool...

  16. Evans a leg away from semispublished at 14:37 Greenwich Mean Time 3 March

    Evans 9-7 Cross

This quarter-final has been a slow-burner but it is hitting top gear now.

Rob Cross hits a 180 and a 140 to take firm control of leg 16.

Three more missed doubles follow and Evans puts pressure on with a big 134 visit.

Two darts on the wire of double four for Cross and the third deflects horribly into the single bed - and Evans lands double eight! He's one leg away from the semis.

  17. Voltage breaks backpublished at 14:34 Greenwich Mean Time 3 March

    Evans 8-7 Cross

The question is how will Ricky Evans handle the finishing line pressure?

He's never reached a major PDC semi-final before.

Rob Cross has loads of those in the bank but he can't take out 112.

But Evans misses two darts at double 16 - both were really close in fairness - and Cross hits the same target with last dart in hand to land a crucial blow.

  18. Cross stops the rotpublished at 14:32 Greenwich Mean Time 3 March

    Evans 8-6 Cross

Evans' attire deserves a mention. You might have seen it in the entries below.

He's draped in a Union Jack shirt with a caricature of himself on the back.

But he flags a bit in that leg (geddit?) as Rob Cross finishes treble 18, double eight for a vital hold of throw.

  19. Rapid Ricky goes three aheadpublished at 14:29 Greenwich Mean Time 3 March

    Evans 8-5 Cross

    Rob Cross looks thoroughly disenchanted.

From 5-5, Ricky Evans has gone three legs ahead in the blink of an eye with some big scoring and, finally, some accurate finishing.

    Evans 7-5 Cross

    Dan Dawson

This might be it - a three-minute of burst of Ricky Evans playing good stuff, not even his best stuff, could put him into a semi-final.
