'Yesterday was extra special'published at 21:52 British Summer Time 10 September 2016

    Women's S6 50m freestyle final

Any parent must be hugely proud to see their offspring win Paralympic gold. But it must be an extra special feeling when your child is only 15.

After daughter Ellie took gold last night in the women's 50m butterfly S6, Will Robinson told BBC Sport: "Everyone's proud of their kids and we're proud of her. But yesterday was extra special. She's very determined and that can be good and it can be bad as a parent."

Robinson will be racing in the final of the S6 50m freestyle shortly and asked how they will celebrate when her races are over, Will Robinson said: "We'll give her a big hug and do whatever she wants.

"This is for Ellie to enjoy it and we'll do whatever Ellie wants us to do for the next two weeks. Until we get home, then she'll do what we want.

"Our job as parents is to bring reality back and make sure she stays grounded. Hopefully she'll come back and will want to do it all again, and so the four-year cycle starts."

That's game over for Louis Rolfe, I'm afraid.

Reigning Paralympic champion Li Zhangyu has just set a new world record in the time trial, finishing in 1:06.678. He's run away with the gold medal, with Rolfe finishing in sixth place.

What a story this is. Imagine watching your idol win gold in London and then four years later, you're in the same Paralympic final.

Ellie Robinson, who has already won a gold medal in last night's sensational 50m butterfly, was inspired to take up swimming after seeing Ellie Simmonds in action.

They now go head to head in Rio. Will the student become the master?

We gave American Elizabeth Marks the big build-up, and she did not disappoint.

Not only did she take gold in the women's 100m breaststroke SB7, but she also set a new world record in the process.

Marks finished in a time of 1:28.13, more than four and a half seconds in front of fellow American Jessica Long.

    Men's T36 100m

It wasn't quite a bullet start from Britain's Graeme Ballard as he struggles to recover from his slip at the start to finish fifth.

The 37 year-old couldn't keep up with the pace as Malaysia's Mohammad Puzi set a new Paralympic record of 12.07 to take gold.

Ballard, who won a silver in this event at London, doesn't look happy as China's Yang Yifei takes second place with Brazil's home favourite Pareirra da Silva in third to claim bronze.

‘Bullet’ Ballard ready to firepublished at 21:37 British Summer Time 10 September 2016

    Men's T36 100m final (21:38 BST)

Graeme ‘Bullet’ Ballard - known for his fast starts - is competing at his fourth Paralympic Games and won a bronze medal in the T36 200m in 2004 and silver in the 100m in London four years ago.

Born 13-and-a-half weeks early, he weighed just 2lb and, with undeveloped lungs, was starved of oxygen, causing cerebral palsy.Doctors warned his parents that he would never walk, or talk, and wouldn’t make it beyond his teenage years.

After missing out on the medals in Doha at the Worlds in 2015, Ballard won double silver at the Europeans in June.

London 2012 wasn't the only driving force of inspiration at these Games in Rio.

Many can take inspiration from the men and women who put their lives at risk overseas in the Armed Forces.

But there was one charming woman that stood out at the Invictus Games, a competition designed as a celebration of the sacrifices our servicemen and women have made.

American Elizabeth Marks was a medic in Iraq when she sustained severe hip injuries in 2010 and nearly died from a respiratory condition in 2014 the day before the first Invictus Games began.

But she captured the hearts of the British public when she gave the gold medal she won to Prince Harry and told him to give it to the nurses at Papworth Hospital in London who saved her life.

What a woman! She goes next for Paralympic gold in the women's SB7 breaststroke final.

  15. What is Boccia?published at 21:17 British Summer Time 10 September 2016

    Mixed pairs BC3 / Mixed pairs BC4 (21:20 BST)

There is some British interest in the Boccia, which brings shortly. Brothers Scott and Jamie McCowan, along with Patrick Wilson are in BC3 action, with Evie Edwards, Stephen McGuire and Kieran Steer in the BC4 event.

But how much do you know about the sport?

Boccia is one of three Paralympic-specific sports which has no Olympic counterpart and is for athletes with conditions like severe cerebral palsy and muscular dystrophy that affects all four limbs.

A game is made up of six red balls, six blue balls and a white jack where individuals or teams have to throw their coloured ball as close to the jack as possible to score points.

Each athlete has a different level of impairment that affects their ability to throw the ball so they are separated into four different classification categories.

Listen to Claire Taggart's take on the sport here.
