Win or lose, Britain's Andy Lapthorne will contest for a medal as he progressed to the men's quad singles semi finals with a 6-2 6-2 win over Australia's Heath Davidson.

Wimbledon doubles champion Jordanne Whiley got her quest for a Paralympic singles title off to a great start with a straight sets win over Korea's Ju Youn Park.

There were also straight sets wins in the women's singles for Lucy Shuker and the men's doubles for Marc McCarroll and David Phillipson as they eliminated China.

Lots of pressure now on the usually unflappable Chris Skelley. If he loses his bronze medal match, the GB judo team will be going home empty-handed, which would be a surprise and a big disappointment.

Skelley fights Yordani Fernandez Sastre of Cuba for the bronze medal later on tonight.

Now this is a tale and a half.

BBC Radio 5 live reporter Kate Grey had to direct a lost Jody Cundy to the velodrome entrance shortly before he won gold for Paralympics GB last night.

Jody was lost. Ten minutes or so later, he had found the gold medal he has craved so badly since losing it in London four years ago.

The velodrome has been a great place for British gold so far in Rio. It is already like a second home for the Brits, who have picked up five gold medals already, as well as one silver and one bronze.

It won't be long before there are more potential medallists. Not long at all.

  13. Ingram misses out on Judo bronzepublished at 20:16 British Summer Time 10 September 2016

It's no medal this time for Britain's Sam Ingram as he loses by two scores to Dartanyon Crockett of the USA.

Ingram, who won bronze in Beijing and Silver in London, was tossed flat on his back with 42 seconds left as the American scored his first yuko.

Crockett was just too strong and with 15 seconds left, Ingram went for a big throw to try and win it but the American counter-attacked to win bronze by two clear scores.

And the Prince, who is patron of the British Paralympic Association, might just have inspired doubles pair Marc McCarroll and David Phillipson, who pulled off a victory against Chinese pair Shunjiang Dong and Zujun Wei.

Sam Ingram in men's -90kg bronze contest

Sam Ingram goes up next in the judo battling for bronze in the men's -90kg category and he's been here before.

He began his judo journey with his brother, who also has the same eye condition as him - it's called corneal dystrophy, where Ingram has impaired central vision and can't see colours.

But that didn't stop him winning bronze at the Beijing 2008 Games and then upgrading to silver in London four years ago.

So it's safe to say, he's in familiar territory tonight.
