GB win two matches in a row

ParalympicsGB are off to a great start in the Boccia tournaments with two wins from two games.

They earned a comprehensive 11-2 win over the Netherlands in the BC1-2 mixed team event before beating Slovakia 4-2 in the BC4 mixed pairs.

If you don't know what Boccia is, this is a game for athletes with severe physical impairments where they have to throw six red or blue balls as close to the white jack as possible to score points.

Some conditions are more severe than others so each athlete is separated by four classes numbered 1-4 - the lower the number, the higher the impairment impacts performance.

Have you ever come face to face with your hero? Ellie Robinson, who won gold last night in a sensational swim, will do just that when she meets Ellie Simmonds in the S6 50m freestyle final (21:50 BST).

Inspired by Simmonds' gold medal at London 2012, Robinson decided to take up swimming at her local club in Northampton. And now she has a gold medal of her own already and is in form to land another at just 15 years old.

"I’ve got loads of confidence after winning that gold, it feels great knowing I’ve got the potential to do well," said Robinson.

Also later we have Andrew Mullen going up against Rio's poster boy Daniel Dias in the men's S5 50m butterfly final (21:56) and Alice Tai in the women's S10 100m backstroke final (23:31).

Losing has made me go quicker - Cockroftpublished at 16:20

BBC Sport's Paralympics reporter in Rio

Double Paralympic champion Hannah Cockcroft suffered the first defeat of her career in September of last year - in the 400m by fellow Briton Kare Adenegan.

However, Cockcroft tells me that's made her more determined in training than ever before.

"Losing my first race is always a sore subject but I think at that point I realised the rest of the world was catching up and that's made me go so much quicker over the last year," she says.

"I have two British rivals - one 15 and one 16 and they are so strong and it helps me push myself in every single session which now I am doing I don't think I was always doing.

"I think before I always stayed in my comfort zone and been where I'm happy - now I'm taking myself out of that and really finding out how quick I can go."

BBC Sport's Paralympics reporter in Rio

Wheelchair racer Hannah Cockcroft became a household name after her T34 100m and 200m double gold success at London 2012, but the 200m has since been removed from the Paralympic programme.

She will bid to defend her 100m crown later tonight before taking on the 400m and 800m distances later in the competition.

"Three gold medals is the aim for these Paralympics, but it's not going to be easy and I can't promise I'm going to do it," she tells me.

"The 100m is the one that means the most to me, whilst the 400m is fun, but the 800m will be the biggest challenge.

"All three are possible and I'm looking forward to showing people I can do more than just get my head down and sprint in a straight line."

Her male counterparts Sam Ingram (Men's -90kg) and Jack Hodgson (Men's +100kg) know how that feels as they were beaten by Ippon too in their quarter-finals earlier.

But they still have a chance to fight for bronze in their respective repechages later.
