"Tottenham midfielder Lewis Holtby has joined Fulham on loan until the end of the season.

"Holtby is training with the Cottagers as we speak and they hope the Germany international's paperwork will go through in time for him to be available to face Southampton on Saturday.

"Meanwhile, the representatives of Konstas Mitroglou are also at the club's Motspur Park training ground as Fulham seek to fend off competition from West Ham for the Olympiakos striker's signature."

  2. Southampton updatepublished at 11:46 Greenwich Mean Time 31 January 2014

BBC Radio Solent sports editor Adam Blackmore: "Southampton's sale of Jason Puncheon to Crystal Palace is agreed between all parties, and they are just waiting for paperwork to be completed before signing off on a £1.75m deal.

"The club have received no late bids for Luke Shaw or any other player for that matter, and will not entertain them."

  3. Looking backpublished at 11:42 Greenwich Mean Time 31 January 2014

How times change, eh? I've just been looking at some figures from transfer deadline day past. In January 2013, Queens Park Rangers, Liverpool and Newcastle United contributed more than half of the total spending. Queens Park Rangers and Newcastle United were also amongst the top three spenders in January 2012. How Magpies supporters must be hoping for a similar outlay this afternoon?

What do you make of Lawro's comments, Arsenal fans? The BBC Sport football pundit was talking before news broke that the Gunners were hoping to sign Swedish midfielder Kim Kallstrom on loan, but surely the club needs back-up for Olivier Giroud?

  5. Lawro's Verdictpublished at 11:36 Greenwich Mean Time 31 January 2014

Lawro on Arsenal: "I have said this many times before but the Gunners need reinforcements up front because if anything happens to Olivier Giroud between now and the end of the season they are relying on Nicklas Bendtner for the last three months of the season. That would be very short-sighted considering they are in the hunt for the title."

  6. Crystal Palace updatepublished at 11:32 Greenwich Mean Time 31 January 2014

Crystal Palace have had a £3m offer for Wolves goalkeeper Wayne Hennessey accepted by the League One club. That could be a good signing for you, Eagles fans?

BBC World Service Sport's John Bennett: "In Italy, Inter Milan's Fredy Guarin has used his Twitter page to complain about the way he's being treated by the club during the transfer window.

"The Colombia international came close to a move to Juventus this month and has been linked with Galatasaray.

"He said: 'I ask Inter to clarify and to show me respect. You were the ones that put me up for transfer without me asking.'"

  9. Cheer up, Bruciepublished at 11:27 Greenwich Mean Time 31 January 2014

BBC Sport's Owen Phillips: "Hull City manager Steve Bruce does not share the general excitement as the end of transfer deadline day looms. Well, at least the ongoing Jack Hobbs saga.

"But he has told BBC Radio Humberside he sees an end in sight and thinks Nottingham Forest remain favourites to re-sign the player who has been on loan at the City Ground this season.

"Bruce said: "It's been dragging on that long that I am bored with it to be honest!"

  10. Wycombe updatepublished at 11:25 Greenwich Mean Time 31 January 2014

BBC Three Counties Radio's Geoff Doyle: "Wycombe Wanderers manager Gareth Ainsworth won't be bringing in any players today following the recent arrivals of Jordan Mustoe, Anthony Jeffrey and Reece Styche, but admits someone could be leaving Adams Park."

  11. Celtic updatepublished at 11:24 Greenwich Mean Time 31 January 2014

    Alasdair Lamont
    BBC Sport

"Celtic are terminating the contract of their striker Mo Bangura today. He signed from AIK in Sweden in 2011 but was sent back to his former club on loan having failed to make an impact in Scotland. He then had a spell with Elfsborg, playing against Celtic in a Champions League qualifier, before returning to Celtic Park at the end of their season last month."

  12. Berbatov updatepublished at 11:22 Greenwich Mean Time 31 January 2014

"Dimitar Berbatov is poised to join AS Monaco from Fulham in a surprise deadline day move.

"The Bulgarian had been linked with a return to his old club Spurs but the ambitious French club have stolen in ahead of their rivals to land the forward who is out of contract in the summer."

  13. Huddersfield Town updatepublished at 11:19 Greenwich Mean Time 31 January 2014

BBC Sport's Gary Rose: "Huddersfield Town are confident of keeping hold of Adam Clayton despite having already rejected a bid this week for the midfielder, believed to be from Championship rivals Brighton.

"The former Manchester City and Leeds player, 25, has been a virtual ever-present for the Terriers this season, and manager Mark Robins is keen to keep him at the John Smith's Stadium.

"Scouts have watched 12-goal top scorer James Vaughan this season - Celtic among those said to have been interested - but with the striker currently injured, it is likely he will remain a Huddersfield player beyond tonight's 23:00 GMT deadline."

  14. Brighton updatepublished at 11:17 Greenwich Mean Time 31 January 2014

BBC Sussex's Johnny Cantor: "Brighton & Hove Albion head coach Oscar Garcia has confirmed former Celta Vigo striker David Rodriguez is having a medical with the club.

"The 27-year-old is expected to train with the Seagulls today before finalising a deal with the Championship club."

If Tony Pulis does keep Crystal Palace in the Premier League, surely he should be manager of the year? Not only were the Eagles rock bottom when he took over, but he inherited a squad which looked desperately short of quality. After all, anybody who squeezes goals out of Marouane Chamakh deserves a medal...

  16. Lawro's Verdictpublished at 11:15 Greenwich Mean Time 31 January 2014

Lawro on Crystal Palace: "What a job Tony Pulis has done since taking over at Crystal Palace, winning five out of 11 Premier League games and all without signing anybody.

"I think he fired a shot across the bows of the Palace directors earlier this week when he said he needed some new faces, but his problem is that he has done so well, the owners are probably thinking we don't need any new signings.

"He is getting his players to play above themselves but that can only last for so long and Pulis will know that he can only keep going back to the well for so long before it runs dry.

"He also knows exactly what it takes to stay up and he will be pressing hard to get what he needs on Friday."
