    BBC World Service Sport's John Bennett: "Brazil international Hernanes has told an Italian radio station that he is definitely joining Inter Milan from Lazio.

    "Earlier today I told you about his tears as he left the Lazio training ground yesterday morning.

    "He's been explaining why he was so emotional on his Facebook page: 'I cried because I had the opportunity to leave Rome, the place I love, the fans I love and the people I love'."

    Brentford have signed Oldham Athletic's James Tarkowski for an undisclosed fee, but the defender will be loaned back when the loan window reopens on 8 February.

    The 21-year-old was offered a new deal by the Latics, but has instead moved to the League One leaders.

    MK Dons manager Karl Robinson has told BBC Three Counties Radio that he put in two transfer bids for players yesterday - a midfielder and a striker - which were unsuccessful. He may bid for a defender today and is after two loan players. Robinson is also hopeful that midfielder Stephen Gleeson (who is out of contract in the summer) won't leave the club today.

    Billy Bob:, external Arsenal spent all summer trying to get a quality striker and we ended up with Mesut Ozil - great player, but not a part of the pitch we needed at the time. January looks like another barren striker search. With Walcott out, everything now rests on Giroud.

    Burton Albion have signed Crawley Town striker Gary Alexander. The 34-year-old has played 26 games for John Gregory's side this season, scoring five goals.

Craig Conway is talking to Championship club Blackburn and Joe Mason is close to a move to Bolton Wanderers. Striker Andreas Cornelius is expected to complete his move back to FC Copenhagen later this afternoon."

    Lewis Holtby's agent Markus Noack, speaking to BBC Sport: "Fulham have put much effort into Lewis. It is a very well-run club with an excellent manager in Rene Meulensteen. The system and philosophy, how Fulham play fits well with Lewis. He will have match practice in the second half of the season in his favourite position and then we'll see how things are going by summer. A return to the Bundesliga has been shattered due to circumstances we couldn't control."

    "Talks continue between FC Dnipro and Liverpool managing director Ian Ayre in the Ukraine over the Reds' potential signing of Yehven Konoplyanka. If this deal does go ahead it will all be done out in Ukraine. Liverpool have no plans to fly the player back for a medical on Merseyside."

    It's starting to warm up nicely, with Fulham signing Lewis Holtby from Tottenham while Dimitar Berbatov has been linked with a move from Craven Cottage to Monaco, despite the French club's manager saying "nothing definite" will happen.

    Southampton striker Dani Osvaldo is having a medical at Juventus while the biggest 'done deal' so far is Sunderland's £3m signing of Brighton midfielder Liam Bridcutt.

    Other potential deals include Arsenal signing Kim Kallstrom, Manchester City swooping for Porto pair Eliaquim Mangala and Fernando, and Chelsea landing 19-year-old St Etienne defender Kurt Zouma for £12m.

    Bad news for Arsenal though, with news that Aaron Ramsey has been ruled out for six weeks.

    Leyton Orient have signed Marvin Bartley on a permanent deal following his release by Burnley.

    The 24-year-old midfielder, who has been on loan with the O's since the start of the season, has signed an 18-month deal. Bartley has made 23 appearances for the O's, scoring two goals.
