Trevor:, external People will say Chelsea's performance was boring, but it is an away leg against top of La Liga. Keeping a tight ship is right tactic.

Anubhav Dasgupta: , externalPeople just keep hating Mourinho and Chelsea but believe it or not, they are actually too good in defending.

Buddy Mustapha:, external Nice one Chelsea! At the Bridge, you can do the damage. Trust Jose and his boys. I can put my money on that.

    MOTD presenter Gary Lineker

"Terry and Cahill were very solid, but it doesn't half help when your full-backs don't attack and you've got a plethora of holding midfielders."

Andrew, Richhill via text: Tonight's performance sums up why as a Manchester United fan I didn't, and never do, want Jose Mourinho as the manager of my football club. Yes he brings success, but the dull, boring, negative tactics would send me to sleep.

Frank, Edinburgh via text: Ding, ding fares please. Chelsea parked the bus.

Rob, Southport via text: Great result for Liverpool, lots of injuries and Chelsea really have to rest for a win in the return leg. Title is heading to Anfield.

Everton youth coach Alan Irvine, who worked with David Moyes: "David will look very closely at himself and learn from this. I've no doubt he'll get a good job in the not-too distant future and do a good job.

"You don't have to look too far to see managers that have had setbacks and gone on to great things. It's certainly not the end for David. He won't be looking for excuses and won't want to blame anyone."

Mark Schwarzer insists he was ready to step in when Petr Cech suffered his early injury. The 41-year-old Chelsea goalkeeper said: "There not much to think about, but I'm always prepared and ready to play. It's a tough thing to do but tonight I've tried to do my job when given the chance. We were right up for it, which you'd expect.

"Atletico Madrid have world class players and we knew if we matched their determination, we'd give it a good go. It's very tough for the second leg but we've got to take each game as it comes. Before that, we've got a massive game at Liverpool on Sunday."

Adam Byrne:, external Makes you wonder why Mourinho is not such a tactical genius when it comes to bread and butter Premier League games? Priorities?

Hanzlah Hanif:, external Ibrahimovic and Costa. Two world class strikers that were silenced when they came up against the Chelsea defence.

Lord Meowington:, external 0-0 will do fine. Still lots to do next week but it's a semi-final and was always gonna be tough. Mikel was superb.

"Chelsea haven't been adventurous. They were disciplined and well-organised which you would expect from Jose Mourinho. They've done a professional job, which you have to give them credit for. They're very professional which is why they go so far in these competitions.

"Atletico just lacked ideas. Teams try to play against them and take chances and they pick you off on the break. Diego was a bright spark but apart from him they didn't have a lot else.

"Chelsea will be more adventurous at Stamford Bridge you would think and you can see them winning the tie.

"Atletico will think they can play better and Chelsea will leave more gaps at the back. It's about taking their chances. They won't think they're out of it. How much will Mourinho attack? You will think he will have to, or maybe will he wait an hour.

"Ashley Cole did very well. You could see he was struggling at the end. He got cramp with 15 minutes to go. But he's a class full-back and always has been. It's up to Roy Hodgson whether he goes to the World Cup - Luke Shaw's done very well."
