"Give Chelsea credit. They have set their stall out and they are very defensive. They are doing their jobs well because Atletico haven't had a chance yet."
Four Diegos. Not the sequel to the Three Amigos, but part of Atletico Madrid's team sheet. The Brazilian playmaker Diego scored a cracker at Barcelona in the last round and has looked a threat already.
He'd be a nightmare to manage...
Tim Arstall:, external Atletico's style seems very similar to Chelsea's as opposed to the tiki-taka approach of Barca, this could be a very close tie.
Jim Harrison:, external This is the hardest draw for Chelsea. Atleitco the only team hungry for their first success at this level - potent.
Seb Hockridge:, external Mario Suarez- Luis Suarez and Mario Balotelli combined, what a player!
Ashley Cole showing a bit of rustiness as he takes an age to clear the ball, he is closed down and there is danger - but referee Jonas Eriksson blows up for a foul. The home fans are then incensed again as Eriksson pings Costa for backing into John Terry.
Almost kick-off at the Reebok, where Bolton are hosting already-promoted Leicester, and the Madejski - and a decent atmosphere at both venues. Four changes for Middlesbrough at Reading - both these games are 20:00 kick-offs.

"Diego Costa does get involved with centre-halves and he does likes a bit of confrontation. I know Atletico are a team full of confidence but I thought Chelsea would be a little bit more ambitious with the way they have set up."
Jose Mourinho is very animated on the touchline as John Terry and Diego Costa square up to each other. An Alpha male face-off which eventually simmers down. Not much action yet, it's all been a bit stop-start.
Chelsea won't mind that.
Sam Hartles:, external Did Ashley Cole last shave the last time he played for Chelsea?
Steven Telfer: , externalWe've seen some glorious facial hair in this season's Champions League!

"Atletico have started very brightly, there's a lot of pace to them. It's going to be very difficult for Chelsea. Fernando Torres is isolated, he's 30 or 40 yards from anyone. You can see Chelsea's game plan, 'defend well and if we get bit of luck on the counter then we'll take it'."
The crowd raise the volume as star striker Diego Costa gets on the ball for the first time, he's a brute of a man but Cesar Azpilicueta shuts the door in his face. Ramires clears from right-back and there's 65 yards of grass between Fernando Torres and his nearest team-mate.
Fetch that Nando...
Atletico controlling the play in the early stages, with skipper Gabi and Raul Garcia dictating from the middle. Garcia is down after a late nibble from John Terry, who looks less than impressed.
Paddy, Havana via text: Moved from Madrid to Cuba as part of my study abroad year. Would give up all the mojitos to see Atletico thump Mourinho.
Simon, Canterbury via text: Come on Chelsea, the last English team in European competitions for the third consecutive season.
Diego Simeone taking a leaf out of the Brendan Rodgers textbook, not in his formation or high press, but in the black shirt, black tie combo. Chelsea are all in black too, with Ramires high up on the right-hand side.
Scarf-waving, confetti-chucking, seed-chewing madness in Madrid. The Calderon is a cauldron. Here we go...
Fernando Torres being treated like an old friend at a school reunion, back slaps and handshakes all round. Ashley Cole sporting a tremendous beard.
Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho - when asked whether it was an easy draw: "No, I disagree, totally - they represent a team, represent top motivation, top commitment, aggressivity, fan support from another dimension.
"The [Chelsea] team is built to try to win, trying to be a physical team because they are, aggressive because they are. People without fear, with courage, people ready to give everything in a very tactical match."
Chris Waddle on BBC Radio 5 live
"Koke is very talented footballer. (Diego Simeone has) a good set of players - they play at a good tempo and he's got them firing. They're not here by chance, they've beaten Barcelona and whoever is put in front of them and they're top of the league.
"We know Spanish sides are very strong so this is a big game for Chelsea."
The Atletico fans unveil a huge banner which says 'Today and forever. Atletico' on the far side. It is buzzing at the Calderon. Here come the players...
