James: People keep saying that Liverpool need to sign top quality defenders but their defensive problems come from their style of play. They push so many men forward to attack that they leave their defence completely exposed.

Mo: Difference is, City can keep passing and be patient, Liverpool just hope for something to happen and lose the ball.

"Manchester City manager Manuel Pellegrini has not shown much emotion so far while patrolling his technical area through sunshine and showers - he rarely gets very animated in victory or defeat - but he allowed himself a fist-pump and a quick round of applause after Samir Nasri put City ahead. Inside, he must be beaming - his name is echoing around Etihad Stadium and his team have one hand on the Premier League trophy."

    How has that stayed out?!

David Silva brings the ball under his spell with a delicious touch before firing in left-footed. Big Andy Carroll sticks out a big left foot and turns the ball against the face of the crossbar with Adrian well beaten.

Sunderland have not roused themselves yet. Phil Bardsley's snap-shot from the edge of the box flies over before the final whistle blows. They trail Swansea by two.

Former Tottenham striker Garth Crooks on Final Score

"It's now not about whether City will win but how many they will score. What has really impressed me about this team is that there has been no sense of panic - not even after losing at Anfield. I thought Vincent Kompany had given the title to Liverpool last month - but Manuel Pellegrini believed in his captain and in his team - and they have come up trumps."

Pablo Zabaleta is basically playing up front for Manchester City. He has been whipping in crosses all afternoon and this time he gets on the end of one from Sergio Aguero - but he can't turn it on target. Almost half-time.

A Essof:, external The way West Ham have played, it's not surprising City have scored. It's surprising in that it's only one goal so far.

Matt Daloisio:, external In 2012, Pablo Zabaleta scored the opener in the 39th minute, as Nasri has just done. It's not over yet!

Southampton are all over Manchester United, with Adam Lallana putting in another superb cross which Steven Davis, sliding in, can't quite convert from six yards out. Still 1-0 to the Saints there.

Earlier at the KC, Hull City appealed for a penalty when Everton old boy Nikica Jelavic smacked a free-kick against the wall - or more specifically against Romelu Lukaku's arm. The Belgian striker's arm was certainly raised, but referee Howard Webb was unmoved. Everton 1-0 up.

A rare moment of promise for West Brom. Saido Berahino gambles on Chris Brunt's cross, darting into the six-yard box, but the cross remains out of reach of his stretching studs. The Baggies trail Stoke by a goal to nil.

Norwich 'keeper John Ruddy spreads himself well to get to a decent Olivier Giroud hit as Arsenal continue to press forward in search of the opening goal at Carrow Road. Still scoreless.

"The way Tim Sherwood has been treated is rather shoddy. You don't ask someone to do a job for you - and he has done very, very well - and not congratulate them. Tim feels he has not had the respect he deserves and I think he is entitled to."

"Fabulous strike from Samir Nasri. There might have been a very slight deflection or maybe it was just ball movement, and the keeper Adrian reacted a little bit late. But ultimately the ball nestled inside the side-netting after coming through a crowd of players. And that is it - I just cannot see West Ham scoring."

As news of City's goal filters through the stands at Anfield, Liverpool waste a great chance! Jordan Henderson floats over a cross from the right, Daniel Sturridge is free eight yards out but scuffs his header wide of the target. He has to score!

Start the party. City lead and they are ever closer to a second title in three years.

If you can't pass through a crowded defence, just shoot from 20 yards. That's Samir Nasri's philosophy and it works a treat, Adrian getting a hand to his dipping, swerving strike but not keeping it out.
