Not ideal for Harry Redknapp as QPR are forced into an early change, Niko Kranjcar signals to the bench to come off after taking a knock, Armand Traore is on in his place.
QPR had the better of the opening stages but Derby are biting back a bit now, snapping and harrying the QPR players when they have the ball. Will Hughes steals possession and runs towards the area, but lashes his shot over the bar.

"Is there contact there? It's a great run from Hughes, he does a little Cruyff turn and I think Dunne has caught him on the knee, But Hughes went down late. Some referees would have given that. There was contact, it's a 50-50 but I'm gonna say: penalty. The key for me is that Dunne immediately put his hands in the air - that straight away showed he was guilty."

"QPR boss Harry Redknapp has been on the edge of his technical area for pretty much all of the match so far, hands buried deep in his pockets. His team have been the better side so far, or at least looked the most threatening, while their fans have been in fine voice. Derby's young side look a little edgy and are struggling to retain possession."
Big, big call by the referee as he waves away a Derby penalty appeal. Will Hughes races on to Jamie Ward's smart ball into the area and initially looks to have his legs taken by Richard Dunne. On second viewing, the teenage midfielder perhaps went down too easily, with Dunne attempting to shepherd him wide.
First real chance of the game as Jamie Ward expertly steers a long ball towards the far post where Craig Forsyth steals in unmarked and the Derby defender heads goalwards, but it is over the bar. Chris Martin looks a tad frustrated, with the Derby striker hoping for Forysth to have spotted him inside the six-yard box.
There is little between the two sides at the moment, and little in the way of decent chances with both teams doing a good job of nullifying the threat on the flanks. A slight break in play as Derby's George Thorne takes a hit when challenging for the ball and is down injured, but he is soon able to carry on.
Peter:, external The fact this play-off final is the most lucrative game in the world shows how badly money is spread across lower leagues.
Nick:, external Steve McClaren not sporting an umbrella, despite the biblical deluge. Could it be Derby's day?
Melvin:, external Would like to see Derby win today, good to see persevering with young players succeed.
Kevin Doyle's physical presence is causing the Derby defence a bit of bother and he again knocks the ball on for Charlie Austin. This time the striker looks confident as he wrong-foots Richard Keogh on the edge of the area and the Derby captain opts to swipe away Austin's legs, rather than let him get away. Joey Barton is on the free-kick, but smacks it into the wall.

"It looks like Derby's wingers have switched. Jamie Ward to the right and Russell to the left but generally there haven't been too many nerves down there and it's been a good start."
Ash:, external What an atmosphere for the play-off final! Not a supporter of either team but the noise at kick off was immense!
Rick:, external Can't believe so many still rate Redknapp so highly. The fact that this QPR side have not gone up automatically is embarrassing.
Seb:, external QPR should have won automatic promotion but take nothing away from Leicester and Burnley they were awesome.
Kevin Doyle smartly heads on to give Charlie Austin a ball to chase on the right. Austin, though, uncharacteristically struggles to get it under control, pawing at the ball like a cat toying with tinfoil and it eventually bounces out for a Derby throw. Some early nerves perhaps?

"QPR have gone for a 4-4-2 formation, which means Kevin Doyle is up front with Charlie Austin, while Niko Kranjcar slots in on the left of a four-man midfield. Derby, as expected, line up 4-3-3. Attacking intent so far from both teams."
QPR's celebrity backing comes from the England cricket team's all-time leading run-scorer and Chelsea fan Kevin Pietersen,, external who tweeted: "Here's to a QPR win today. Go well, @Amit_Bhatia99 & @tonyfernandes! Wish I was there!"
Anthony:, external Would like Derby to win today as I think McClaren is a better manager and would like to see him back at the top.
QPR swiftly respond as Craig Forsyth knocks the ball behind to give Harry Redknapp's side a corner. Joey Barton whips it in but Niko Kranjcar fails to direct his header on target.
Great work from Johnny Russell as he has Derby fans on their feet when he skips a couple of QPR challenges and races to the edge of the area before feeding the ball to Will Hughes. He is hacked down some 25 yards from goal and Russell takes the free-kick, but whacks it into the wall. Lively start.

"It's filthy, dirty, dark, grey clouds. The Derby fans are bouncing and the QPR supporters have their 40,000 flags given to them by the club."
Derby, in white shirts and black shorts, get this play-off final under way. QPR, meanwhile, are wearing red and black hooped shirts.
The national anthem has been sung, a packed Wembley stadium roars its approval and the players take their respective positions on the pitch. Are we ready for what promises to be an absolutely belting encounter?
