Matthew:, external All Derby now, need to be more clinical though in the final third, finish these opportunities and put this game to bed!

Jamie Ward is picked out in loads of space on the left but is too quick to make the pass as he crosses low across the edge of the area and Armand Traore steels in to hack the ball away before any lurking Derby players can sneak in.

"It's a fascinating contest. It's siege mentality from QPR and their two banks of four - and look at how deep Bobby Zamora has come in search of that one opportunity in the last 10 minutes. You have to admire the resolve of the 10 men of QPR against Derby's 11."

It is all Derby as time ticks away, Simon Dawkins looking to pounce on any error by a QPR defender. To the Hoops' credit, they are doing well to maintain their composure and keep the battering Rams at bay. Lots of nervous shots of Derby and QPR fans in the stands.

"QPR holding on, just trying to stay into the contest. Derby raining down the blows, looking to strike decisively. Both managers are on the touchline, in their dugouts. We're into the territory now when one goal could be enough. Rangers fans trying to lift their team, Derby fans sensing something special."

It is looking increasingly likely that extra time and penalties will be QPR's best chance of snatching this as the 90-minute mark creeps closer. In their favour, though, is the sun is now shining brightly on the Derby area. Get a ball into the box and, with the sun in keeper Lee Grant's eyes, who knows what could happen?

Jake: I would be really surprised if Derby don't snatch a late winner.

"Robert Green is keeping QPR in this game - Derby are playing well against the 10 men, they are getting it out wide, not panicking, they are remaining patient and Craig Bryson is making the difference with his link-up play. You have to say it must be a matter of time before Derby get the ball in the back of the net but QPR are defending very well."

It is easy to see why Craig Bryson was named Derby's player of the year, what a fantastic little player he is. He has certainly injected life into this encounter and creates another chance for Steve McClaren's side, feeding a pass to Simon Dawkins inside the area. The former Tottenham man patiently works some space for himself just yards from goal and aims an effort towards the far post but Rob Green is wise to it and dives to bat the ball away.

Tokunbo:, external All Derby need to do now is to control the match and score a goal.

Alex:, external Definite red card! He was put about to pull the trigger. It was a clear goal-scoring opportunity.

John:, external Well done Lee Mason with the sending off. Calm, double-checked with his linesman and right. Outside the box, a deliberate effort to stop the player.

"Craig Bryson has got 16 goals from midfield this season. He makes fantastic runs, has got great energy and has been Derby's player of the year. He will have a fantastic impact."

  12. Hits the woodworkpublished at 16:28 British Summer Time 24 May 2014

Derby are turning the screw now, with Craig Bryson straight into the thick of the action. He forces a good save out of Rob Green with a low drive, before teeing up Chris Martin, whose effort rattles the outside of the woodwork. Derby can smell the kill.

  13. Substitutionpublished at 16:26 British Summer Time 24 May 2014

Karl Henry comes on for QPR with Clint Hill the man to be sacrificed. That likely means Armand Traore will drop into left-back and, as the third and final substitution for Harry Redknapp's side, there will be no appearance from Ravel Morrison today.

Derby take the opportunity to make a double change, Simon Dawkins and Craig Bryson on for Johnny Russell and Will Hughes respectively.

  14. Postpublished at 16:22 British Summer Time 24 May 2014

Charlie Austin has dropped into midfield following Gary O'Neil's dismissal. Karl Henry looks set to come on, but who to make way?

  15. Text us on 81111published at 16:22 British Summer Time 24 May 2014

Alan, Somerset: Some vague attempt at justice. How Clint Hill wasn't sent off versus Wigan is beyond the wit of all football fans. Come on Rams.

"Wembley has its first tinder box moment of the afternoon as Gary O'Neil sees red. He would not have been asked to make such a dangerous challenge had Rangers not given the ball away so cheaply moments earlier. Harry Redknapp has been in discussion with his coaching staff since the red appeared but has already used two of his substitutions."

"I think it's the right decision. The referee has it spot on. Russell is going to get a clean strike on goal and a clear opportunity. What a chance now for Derby to get to the Premier League. Already having better possession and will now have more possession."

Just the drama this game needs as Gary O'Neil is sent off for QPR after hacking down Johnny Russell just outside the area. Free-kick to Derby...
