So, after 1,671 matches, one or two controversial moments, and a whole lot of memories, the 2013-14 Football League season is now officially over. And what a way to bring down the curtain. Fleetwood Town, who were playing in the ninth tier of English football nine years ago, are just another two promotions away from the Premier League!

For those already counting down the days to the 2014-15 Football League campaign, the fixtures are out at 09:00 BST on 18 June. That's just 23 days away. See you in August.

Burton manager Gary Rowett, who forced his players watch Fleetwood lift the play-off trophy, tells Sky Sports: "I wanted the players to watch Fleetwood pick up the trophy so they felt the hurt. We now have two choices: sit and sulk or use it positively.

"Wembley is a cruel place to lose but I'd rather lose here than in the semi-finals. Goalkeeper Dean Lyness will be hurting, his handling has been terrific this season. We knew a mistake could win or lose it. One or two players just felt the occasion too much."

There were just 14,000 fans inside Wembley but Fleetwood's followers are making so much noise that you could be mistaken for thinking there was five times that many inside the stadium. Cod Army chairman Andy Pilley is wearing what looks like an expensive suit. It's drenched in champagne. Not that he's looking too upset. . .

Long-serving Fleetwood defender Nathan Pond to Sky Sports: "I can't believe it, from the North West Counties League to Wembley, I'm still pinching myself. I did not think any of this would happened when I joined in 2003. Conference maybe but not League One."

BBC Sport's Tom Garry at Wembley: "A small number of Burton fans remain to see their opponents lift the trophy - a memorable day that ultimately ends in disappointment for them. Travelling in on the train, several Albion fans told me they were just happy to be here and they wouldn't be too upset if they lost. Try saying that to them now..."

"When you lose a game like this, you think to yourself that you should have given more. Why did it take Burton to concede before they gave it a real go?"

Jamie Crane:, external Don't understand people referring to Fleetwood's promotions as a 'fairytale'. Money talks.

Urus Stem:, external So what if Fleetwood's success is based on money. It has always happened. Anyone who thinks otherwise is naive.

Andy Brown:, external So all three sides finishing 4th have been promoted...obviously the position to aim for next season!
