    Burton might not have enjoyed the same rapid success as Fleetwood over the last few years, but the Brewers - whose nickname stems from the town's brewing heritage - have still made significant strides on and off the pitch.

    Since winning promotion to the Football League in 2009, they have established themselves in the fourth tier, this being the second successive season Gary Rowett's side have reached the play-offs. Last term their promotion dream was shattered by Bradford in the semi-finals.

    But, with the help of the £100m national football centre at St George's Park, located a short distance from Burton's Pirelli Stadium home, they have bounced back. The state-of-the-art facilities are used by Burton, and boss Rowett says: "'I've sold the club to some of the new signings by showing them that we're training at one of the best training grounds in the world - not many League Two clubs can say that."

    Fleetwood... .a Lancashire seaside resort famous for its fishing fleets and the Fisherman's Friend sweets. Not so famous for its football club. But could that be about to change?

    This is the third incarnation of the club which first formed in 1908. Over the years they have been known as Fleetwood FC, Fleetwood Town, Fleetwood Wanderers, Fleetwood Freeport and, in 2002, Fleetwood Town again.

    Nine years ago the Cod Army faced the likes of Ramsbottom United, Bacup Borough and Atherton Collieries in front of a sprinkling of fans. In three hours' time they could be two promotions away from the Premier League. Who said romance in football is dead?

    So it all come down to this. Two hundred and ninety seven days after the Football League season started, the final piece in the 2013-14 jigsaw is about to be completed.

    We know Queens Park Rangers and Rotherham are up from the Championship and League One respectively after dramatic victories at Wembley. But will it be Burton or Fleetwood joining former Premier League clubs Barnsley, Sheffield United and Coventry in League One? Neither team has played in the third tier before.
