  1. When Joey Barton played for Fleetwoodpublished at 14:45 British Summer Time 26 May 2014

Will Joey Barton be cheering for Fleetwood? The QPR midfielder trained with the Lancashire club for a week in July 2012 after being left out of the club's tour of Malaysia after being banned for the first 12 games of the 2012-13 season.

Barton said at the time: "Fleetwood are a young club going places. Five promotions already in the last few years. If I can help some of their young players, great." He went on to play 45 minutes of a friendly with Kilmarnock before returning to QPR, whom he featured for in Saturday's 1-0 play-off final win over Derby which secured their return to the Premier League.

    Gary Rowett and Graham Alexander

Burton manager Gary Rowett will be hoping for a little less drama than his last trip to Wembley. Back in 1995 as a member of the Everton FA Cup final squad, Rowett played the role of first aider for a family member of an unnamed team-mate on the coach home from the 1-0 win against Manchester United.

"I remember giving some emergency treatment," recalls the 40-year-old former Birmingham, Derby and Leicester defender. "He collapsed and had an epileptic fit on the coach home."

Fleetwood boss Graham Alexander is no stranger to the joy and heartbreak associated with play-off finals. In 1992, a 20-year-old Alexander saw his spot-kick saved as Scunthorpe lost a Division Four final on penalties. Seventeen years later, and after two more final failures with Preston, he eventually tasted play-off success with Burnley.

  4. Not suited and bootedpublished at 14:37 British Summer Time 26 May 2014

Burton players are not wearing the traditional Wembley smart dress this afternoon as manager Gary Rowett wants them relaxed. The Brewers boss also prepared a DVD of Wembley's emotional moments to get them in the mood.

He says: "We don't wear suits for away games so we're not wearing them for Wembley. We will just be the same as normal so the players are focused as normal. I showed them a montage of clips of teams and managers celebrating at the final whistle and goals going in. I wanted to portray the elation of what can be achieved."

  7. Fleetwood's Mr Promotionpublished at 14:29 British Summer Time 26 May 2014

The last few years have been a huge adventure for the Cod Army and one player has been there every step of the way. Having joined Fleetwood from Lancaster City in 2003, Preston-born defender Nathan Pond has experienced all five of the club's promotions in the last nine years.

The 29-year-old former delivery driver, who scored against Burton in January, will be looking to make it half a dozen after being named in the starting line-up at Wembley, his 51st club appearance of the season.

It does beg the question: Just how many promotion parties can one man take?

BBC Sport's Tom Garry at Wembley: "While we aren't expecting as many fans as the 47,127 that attended last season's final between Bradford City and Northampton Town, the atmosphere inside Wembley is still building nicely.

"The lower tier is awash with yellow and black and red and white. Almost everyone is donning either a replica shirt, silly hat or waving a flag. One Brewers fan has even come in his best yellow suit!"

Fleetwood's Antonio Sarcevic and Burton's David Gray

Twelve months ago Antoni Sarcevic was part of the Chester team that secured promotion from the Conference North. Now the 22-year-old former Manchester City youngster is Fleetwood's main goal threat having ended the League Two season with 13 goals from midfield.

Burton defender David Gray once appeared alongside Gabriel Heinze and Ole Gunnar Solskjaer for Manchester United. The 26-year-old left Old Trafford in July 2010 with just one senior appearance to his name but continued his career at Preston and Stevenage before arriving at Burton in January.

Striker Billy Kee comes into the Burton side, in preference to Dominic Knowles, despite his wife Leigh going into labour today. Alex MacDonald is the other change, coming in for defender David Gray. Fleetwood have just made one change in defender Alan Goodall, and continue with Iain Hume and David Ball in attack.

  12. The man behind Fleetwood's risepublished at 14:20 British Summer Time 26 May 2014

It's 2003 and Andy Pilley is checking out Fleetwood's dilapidated Highbury ground, weighing up whether or not to invest in the non-League club. "I opened a window and it fell out," recalls the Cod Army chairman. "It was that kind of place."

The entrepreneur tells the Daily Mail:, external "It was pub football. The crowd was made up of a few people, players' parents and one man with his dog. My first gate was 80."

Fast forward 11 years, plus a £10m investment from Pilley, and Highbury is an attractive ground that is also base to Pilley's gas and electricity business. Who says dreams can't come true?

Anyone spotted someone wandering around Wembley wearing a white racing suit, white helmet, white gloves, white racing shoes and sporting a yellow and black scarf? Don't be alarmed. It's only the Stig from Top Gear.

According to the BBC show's presenter Jeremy Clarkson, the famous mystery driver is a Brewers fan., external

Will the Stig finally take off his helmet if Billy Kee scores the 90th-minute winner to win promotion? I wouldn't count on it.

    League Two table

There was little to choose between Burton and Fleetwood at the end of the regular League Two season, four points separating the sides over the course of 46 games. While Burton won 3-2 at Fleetwood on 17 August, the Lancashire club hit back to record a 4-2 win at the Pirelli Stadium on 25 January. With the teams also meeting in the FA Cup, this is the fifth time the clubs have faced each other this season, with Burton triumphing twice and Fleetwood winning one.

  18. BREAKING TEAM NEWSpublished at 14:06 British Summer Time 26 May 2014

Defender Shane Cansdell-Sherriff is fit for Burton despite not training for much of the week following an Achilles problem. Fleetwood prefer defender Alan Goodall to Steven Schumacher.

  19. Wembley rehearsalpublished at 14:04 British Summer Time 26 May 2014

Burton are the only club to use the FA's national football centre facility permanently, which houses a replica Wembley pitch. Even though they have not been to the national stadium since the 1987 FA Trophy final, they had the advantage of being able to get used to the pitch dimensions by training on the Wembley replica.

"We've been on a couple of those pitches this week," adds manager Gary Rowett. "Groundsman Alan Ferguson has tried to give us as much information as he can about how the pitch will be - how the pitch might play. That's the sort of inside information we've got."
