  3. Manager reactionpublished at 18:20 British Summer Time 25 May 2014

Leyton Orient manager Russell Slade: "This is the hardest defeat I've had to take. I don't think it's a free-kick for their first goal, which got them back into it. I feel a bit hard done by but it was hard to separate the teams on the day. We've got to reflect, take stock and then go again.

"We've taken penalties for two weeks to get ready. But it can swing from one side to the other and so it did. We've had a wonderful season, they've been magnificent.

    "We're hugely disappointed."

Steve Evans took his first steps in management 20 years ago but next season will be his first managing in the second tier of English football. With four promotions in four seasons, the first two with Crawley and now Rotherham, it is hard to argue that he does not deserve his chance in the Championship.
