BBC Sport's Rob Stevens at Wembley: "There are only a smattering of fans inside Wembley at the moment, but there's already been some action on the pitch.
"Leyton Orient have just won the Football League Kids Cup, beating Notts County 1-0, and are parading the trophy in front of the O's supporters. An omen for later?"
While Leyton Orient have waited 32 years for this moment, Rotherham's stay outside the top two divisions has not been quite as long.
They were relegated to League One in 2005 but have certainly suffered their fair share of knocks in the years since then - a 10-point deduction in 2006 for entering administration, relegation to League Two, and a 17-point deduction in 2008 for again being in administration.
But they have been rejuvenated under Steve Evans, who led them to promotion from League Two last season and has now put them on the cusp of a second successive promotion.
Leyton Orient are unchanged from the side which beat Peterborough in their play-off semi-final second leg, meaning the evergreen Kevin Lisbie, 35, starts.
Rotherham also name the first XI which beat Preston in their semi-final second leg.
The QPR flags have long since been swept off Wembley Way and the iconic path to the national stadium is now filled with eager and nervous Leyton Orient and Rotherham fans.
Yesterday will have provided the fans in attendance today a glimpse of just how cruel a play-off final can be, as QPR's only shot on target resulted in the game's only goal in the 90th minute.
For now spirits will undoubtedly be high among Orient and Rotherham fans. We should be finding out the 22 players their hopes rest on soon, with the team line-ups expected any minute.
QPR won the richest game in football yesterday, pocketing an estimated £80m by securing promotion to the Premier League. Today's financial prize pales in comparison, with promotion via the League One play-offs estimated to be worth £5m.
That is an amount QPR would not miss if it dropped down the back of the sofa, but it is nevertheless big money for these two clubs.
Orient have not spent a penny on transfer fees for four seasons and with that in mind, to be so close to the Championship is, in itself, a pretty stunning achievement.
Rotherham:, external Wembley awaits. Come on Millers!!!!
With QPR vacating the Championship following their dramatic play-off win over Derby yesterday, it is League One that takes centre stage today as Leyton Orient and Rotherham go head-to-head for that one remaining spot in the English second tier.
It is perhaps fitting that it is the O's and the Millers who are contesting in the final. The two proved inseparable over the course of the 46-game season, finishing on the same number of points.
The two encounters between them were also incredibly tight, both winning at home with just a solitary goal between them. If history is anything to go by, this is going to be one closely fought affair.
The next seven days have the potential to be quite momentous in the Hearn household.
Next Saturday, Eddie Hearn stages the biggest boxing event in British history at Wembley, with Carl Froch fighting George Groves, but at the same stadium today his father Barry has the chance to make history himself.
Leyton Orient, the club he bought for a fiver back in 1995, are one game away from a return to the second tier of English football for the first time in 32 years, as they take on Rotherham in the League One play-off final.
Eddie describes his beloved O's as "the sleeping princess". Will anyone prove its Prince Charming today?
