Liverpool have really stepped on the gas after the break and have the perfect opportunity to close up on Manchester City's superior goal difference. Palace have nothing left to play for and it has shown for most of tonight. Not a patch on the side who have secured safety so superbly under manager Tony Pulis.

OptaJoe, external: 28 - Daniel Sturridge has scored (21) or assisted (7) 28 goals in 28 PL appearances this season. Vital.

"Did you see Sturridge's reaction? It's about getting the goals, Sturridge does not want to waste any time.

"You'd think Liverpool were 0-3 down by the way Luis Suarez has reacted after scoring, grabbing the ball straight away. What do they need, five or six to put pressure on City? They could have had that already tonight."

It's all about goals now! Luis Suarez plays a one-two with Raheem Sterling and collects the return before burying Liverpool's third past Julian Speroni. Attack, attack, attack!

Liverpool have that all-important second and it's no surprise that Daniel Sturridge has given it them with a low, deflected shot which trickles past Julian Speroni.

  10. HITS THE WOODWORKpublished at 21:11 British Summer Time 5 May 2014

The SAS are knocking on the door now, but Julian Speroni refuses to let them in. First Daniel Sturridge opens his body up and curls a shot towards the bottom corner which is brilliantly tipped on to the post by the goalkeeper, before Luis Suarez blazes the follow-up well wide.

  11. YELLOW CARDpublished at 21:09 British Summer Time 5 May 2014

Boos ring around Selhurst Park from the away end as Luis Suarez goes tumbling in the area after being checked by Scott Dann while attempting a one-two with Daniel Sturridge. The Uruguayan is convinced it should be a penalty and ends up being booked by referee Mark Clattenburg for his protestations.

Good, incisive play from Yannick Bolasie as the tricky winger flies past challenges down the left but eventually runs into a brick wall which looks rather like Martin Skrtel.

Juventus fans have turned out in force to cheer their title-winning players for their game against Atalanta. It is a real party atmosphere in the stands, which is just as well given there has been little to celebrate on the pitch. It is goalless at the break and Juve seem to be quite content to let the visitors have plenty of the ball, with the home side definitely playing in second, perhaps even third, gear.

Liverpool deserve their lead at half-time but just signs of life from Crystal Palace as the half came towards its close. Liverpool's fans - with their eye on Manchester City's superior goal difference - have been chanting "attack, attack, attack."

"Liverpool deservedly ahead, the way Palace has approached the game has been a little odd. For quarter of an hour they matched them, then they went into their shell, they asked Chamakh to do a job on Gerrard, and Liverpool created chance after chance for a deserved lead. Then Palace got back into the game... there's an opportunity for them here."
