Mathieu Valbuena has been the most impressive performer so far and he links up well with Patrice Evra down the left before the Manchester United man's cross is cleared.

Karim Benzema has only had five touches so far though. That could be the problem.

France keep winning free-kicks, and Mathieu Valbuena keeps delivering them. His next one is a beauty, it drops for Blaise Matuidi, and he shovels an awkward shot on goal, which is brilliantly saved by Noel Valladares, he just about tips it against the crossbar.

Mathieu Valbuena plays a clever free-kick out to the edge of the box for Karim Benzema, but it's too high and the Real Madrid man has to head it from 20 yards. Unsurprisingly he fails to test the keeper. France now have another free-kick in the same position.

"When Hugo Lloris is in goal for any team, they always play a high defensive line because he wants to play as sweeper. France are playing an incredibly high line and Honduras have tried to break it three times with long balls and I think they have been incredibly unlucky with some of the referee's calls.

"Why play that way? They are good enough not to take that risk."

Honduras goalkeeper Noel Valladares just about pushes a cross out of danger before Patrice Evra is late on a challenge and goes in the book. Bad challenge that.
