Mac Jerry:, external I'm surprised to see John Mikel Obi playing just in front of the back four. I would love him to advance more just as his shirt number suggests."

Former Celtic manager Neil Lennon, MOTD

"The service has been terrible to Nigeria striker Emmanuel Emenike. Too many times they've chipped straight balls into him and it's meat and drink to the Iranian defenders.

"Far too many times it's too straight and easy to be broken up. The passing of the midfield three has been poor."

"John Mikel Obi frustrates me when I watch him because he's big and powerful and he gets opportunities to drive forward and draw a defender out and play in behind.

"But he's content to keep it ticking and pass sideways. As a defender you're happy because he's not causing you any problems."

    Chris Waddle
    BBC Radio 5 live

"Carlos Queiroz must work a lot on the training ground on the shape of this Iran team. They're not the most creative side but they're honest and genuine and you can't ask any more than that.

"It's not the best game we've seen. Nigeria came out of the blocks quickly but Iran have set their stall out with a 4-5-1 and they've dealt with anything Nigeria have thrown at them.

"It's up to Nigeria to get the goal to open the game up."

Ahmed Ketta:, external If Nigeria can't beat Iran then they have no business in Brazil.

Andrew Kemp:, external Nigeria are definitely having the better of this one. If they scored they could relax a little more.

Andrew Reilly:, external I can't believe Nigeria are playing Efe Ambrose at right-back. I've seen milk turn quicker than him!

"Nigeria had a couple of moments that threatened a goal in the first five or 10 minutes but since then they haven't created a lot.

"Both teams just need to settle down, it's been frenetic and the pitch is lively. Nigeria have tried to slow it down but at times they're rushing things as much as Iran. It's end to end and Iran have worked their socks off so far."
