"You have to give Spain striker Diego Costa another chance. It depends who's around him - who can fit [in the system]. It's not only down to him. I want to see how Pedro is going to play. That could definitely help Costa."

It's a sea of red at one end of the Maracana as thousands of Chile fans make themselves heard. Chile will play in white tonight though, with Spain back in their all red kit after a trouncing in white the other night.

"We're sitting here on the cusp of maybe seeing one of the great footballing dynasties coming to an end today, it's great theatre.

"Gerard Pique and Sergio Ramos were vulnerable against the Netherlands and we've seen Pique has been dropped as a result. Those two have been the fulcrum of the Spain defence for the past five or six years.

"But for me Javi Martinez, who has replaced Pique, is primarily a holding midfield player. Vicente Del Bosque has taken a risk but he must think it's a risk worth taking."

Chile were excellent in the opening 20 minutes against Australia in their first game - then retreated into their shells a bit. How will they get going tonight?

Will they sit back and let Spain have it or get at them?

"Chaos at Maracana as Chile fans storm the media centre. It seemed like 50-100 - maybe more - burst through, running riot. The Chile supporters were then led away by Brazilian security forces in long lines, hands on each other's backs. The situation is now under control."

"There's huge pressure on the world champions to win this game.

"There's always a fascination when you see sporting icons and dynasties on the brink of almost going under. The 5-1 defeat must hurt and even with the experience Vicente del Bosque has there will be butterflies and he'll be nervous.

"But they've got big name players that can handle it. They're up against a mobile, forceful and confident Chile team."

"It's going to be difficult. Chile must be happier to play Spain - that's their game. I can see this group finishing with points of 6-6-6-0. Spain must respond. I will say that Spain will bounce back. You want to see them go further."

It will be interesting to see - or hear - what sort of reception the Spanish side get tonight.

They were roundly booed in Brazil during last year's Confederations Cup and have been accused of being 'boring' by sections of the media.

"Spain were beaten by Netherlands 5-1 but in the first 35 minutes they dominated and if David Silva scores when he really should it's 2-0 and game over.

"But because Iker Casillas makes an error and Arjen Robben produces two moments of brilliance there's this big inquest.

"Spain will win, they'll finish second in the group and I would actually tip them to beat Brazil in the second round."

"It's been a sweltering day in Rio de Janeiro and the Chile fans arrived here en masse to raise the temperature another few degrees. They partied long into the night on Copacabana beach - but that was nothing compared to what we're seeing outside this famous stadium.

"The Chile colours are everywhere you look and the noise is absolutely extraordinary - they're singing and dancing to the beat of an enormous drum, with a favourite chant of "Chi, Chi, Chi; Le, Le Le; Viva Chile!" reverberating through the streets.

"A section of Chile fans - about 75 - just ran through the press room in the Maracana and broke down a temporary wall in an effort to gain access to the stadium."
