Bayern should play Manuel Neuer in midfield one day. I reckon he's good enough.
The quarter-final line-up so far then.
France v Germany, Friday 4 July 17:00 BST
Brazil v Colombia, Friday 4 July 21:00 BST
Netherlands v Costa Rica, Saturday 5 July 21:00 BST
The fourth match will be between the winners of Argentina v Switzerland and Belgium v USA. Those two games are on Tuesday.
Social media comments from around the world are being translated and curated by the BBC's multilingual World Cup Twitter conversation, @viabbc., external
NeuroNiMa:, external In my view, Germany v Algeria was one of the best games of the World Cup. Algeria were so good that Germany had to fight for their lives to win!
Alipour Arjang:, external Without doubt I just watched the best game of the World Cup. Well done Algeria.
Hamed Tabaar:, external In years to come, people will say that Germany was hoofing the ball against Algeria.
Who do you make favourites for the quarter final in Rio then?
France and Germany have both been brilliant at times during the tournament, but both made heavy work of African opposition today. It has all the hallmarks of one of the greats.
Sola Akingbola:, external France have nothing to fear. A mouth-watering game awaits us lovers of the beautiful game.
Vishvesh:, external If this is how Germany are going to play, then France should have no problem!
Conor McMeekin:, external Thomas Muller must have the best engine on the planet, just runs all day and absolutely loves it!
Kevin, Hornchurch: Chile. Mexico. Costa Rica. Algeria. Changing face of world football. Great to see. England way off the global pace.
Tom, Manchester: Wonderful to see the Algerian coach's passion and emotion after the final whistle, they've won me over Algeria.

"I fancy France to beat Germany in the quarter-final. France will have taken note of the lack of pace of Germany's back four."
Lindsay Catt:, external Credit to Algeria, they've been great all tournament. Sad to see the last of the African teams go.
Al-Ram:, external Performance of the World Cup. Hold your heads up Algeria, your time will come. That was top-drawer stuff.
Patty:, external Algeria were wonderful.

BBC Match of the Day commentator
"Germany have been made to go the whole distance and a little bit more besides, but it is Germany who march on to the Maracana.
"A win that was made in Chelsea and finished by Arsenal. You can understand the tears and the pain from the Algeria players. These are players who do not feature for top level clubs but you wouldn't have believed it by their performance today. And that has been true of many a World Cup match."

"For most of the game Algeria were excellent and deserve the praise and credit that they will receive for doing a real job against a side that a lot think will get to the semi-finals at least.
"But from 70 minutes on Germany took control and they could have scored four or five goals. But Algeria will go home as heroes and rightly so."
Algeria coach Vahid Halilhodzic is in tears, as he meets each and every one of his players as they leave the field with a hug and a word in their ears. His contract expired today and he is off.
He can be rightfully proud of his side's showing.
It's France v Germany in the Maracana then, on Friday afternoon at 17:00 BST.
Ding. Dong.
It is just a consolation.
Algeria lose the game but win plenty of fans. They were excellent for long spells but eventually came up short. Germany power on.

"Algeria deserve something. Whether it's a consolation goal or not we will see."
Hang on! Hang on a minute! Algeria score from nowhere, Abdelmoumene Djabou arriving on a great cross to bury at the back post.

"You feel for Algeria - they have put in so much effort. Four of their players are sat on the floor. But Germany nearly made a mess of that between Ozil and Schurrle. But the last finish from Ozil was excellent."
That really is that now. He's not had a great game but Mesut Ozil wraps it up.
Andre Schurrle is played clean through, he should shoot but passes to Ozil. He should shoot but passes to Schurrle. His shot is blocked but Ozil finally applies the coup de grace with his left foot, swishing the ball into the roof of the net.
Germany will face France. Can't wait.
Phil, Poole: Heroic failure. Something the English can identify with.
