Andy in Stockport: The difference for Spain this tournament has been the absence of Puyol. He was an immense leader on and off the pitch and they've not managed to replace him. The team looked lost without him.

Ian in Gloucester: Spain reached the top and then failed to evolve . Not introducing new young players at a sensible rate put a shelf-life on the team that they now appear to have reached.

Anonymous: It's not the end for this Spanish team, they just need to put David De Gea in and not the past-it Iker Casillas and that would have solved around three goals this tournament!
