    Fulham manager Felix Magath says he might not even bother watching Sunday's World Cup final as the outcome is a foregone conclusion.

    Germany start as favourites against Argentina following their shock 7-1 semi-final win over Brazil.

    "For me, the result is obvious," says Magath, who hails from Germany. "I think it will be 3-0 to Germany."

    So here are your choices:

    1982: Poland reaching the 1982 semi-finals thanks to four goals from Zbigniew Boniek.

    1986: Belgium reaching the semi-finals.

    1990: Who can forget Cameroon in 1990? They beat Argentina in the opening game and qualified out of the group before eventually being beaten by England.

    2002: We have mentioned them in the Contenders section, but semi-finalists Turkey and South Korea started out as underdogs.

    2006: Portugal getting to the semi-finals, with the help of battling through against Netherlands in the infamous Battle of Nuremberg.

    2010: Paraguay reaching the last eight.

    2014: Costa Rica reaching the last eight. Mexico and Colombia surprising many.

    Deportivo La Coruna appoint former Zaragoza coach Victor Fernandez as their new boss ahead of a return to the Spanish top flight.

    Fernandez signs a one-year deal and replaces the sacked Fernando Vazquez, who lost his job when he criticised transfer policy despite winning promotion.

    Arsenal fans may remember Deportivo's new man who was in charge of Zaragoza when they beat the Gunners in the 1995 Uefa Cup Winners' Cup final.

    Fifa vice-president Jim Boyce says referees have not been told to be lenient at the 2014 World Cup.

    Some officials have been criticised for opting not to caution players during matches, with the average number of yellow cards per game just below three.

    Boyce says: "I think the refereeing has been superb and it has not happened by chance.

    "The referees have been told to only send a player off if they were 100% certain it was a red card, but nothing has ever been said about being lenient."

    Germany have a special plan to stifle, external Argentina's Lionel Messi in Sunday's World Cup final, says assistant coach Hansi Flick.

    "We saw how the Dutch managed to keep Messi out, but we too have a special plan for him, although I won't give that away," says Flick.

    Messi has four goals so far in the tournament, two behind leading scorer James Rodriguez.

    Get ready, because Miroslav Klose could be set to release his inner party animal.

    The 36-year-old - who conducts his training in regimented fashion - says he will let the shackles off, external if Germany beat Argentina to lift the World Cup on Sunday.

    "I can't really guarantee anything, but if we do win the trophy, I can imagine that I will relax and there is a party beast, even in me," he quipped.

    Klose became the highest scorer in World Cup history with his 16th goal in the competition against Brazil on Tuesday.
