"What surprises me about Russia is that Fabio Capello hasn't really changed things tactically. Russia, more often than not, have four or five players sitting back. No time for that now, Fabio."

Free-kick to Russia on the left just outside the area but Dmitri Kombarov's effort is far too easy for keeper Rais Mbolhi.

His easy save triggers more huge roars from inside the ground by Algeria's excited fans.

Steve, Coleraine, via text: The laser clearly affected Akinfeev's vision. It was in his eyes for 10 seconds before that cross. I was supporting Algeria, but now I definitely want Russia to win.

"It's next goal wins here. Or, if there are no goals, then Algeria are the winners. Even though they've had to do a lot of defending, the Algerians have tried to break out. But it's going to be an exhausting final few minutes for both teams."

Thousands of them are dancing and cheering inside Arena da Baixada as the clock ticks down.

Algeria keeper Rais Mbolhi has had little to do. Fabio Capello is running out of time.

And it's bye, bye South Korea.

Divock Origi, who has impressed since coming on, powers a low drive from the edge of the area but South Korea's keeper Kim Seung-gyu spills the ball and Tottenham's Jan Vertonghen is there to sweep the ball into the net.

    The 10-men have the lead.

Fifteen minutes to go in both matches.

A reminder that Russia and South Korea are going out if the scores stay the same.

"I'm surprised Algeria have taken off Yacine Brahimi. He was playing really well, was providing a threat and he didn't look tired. It may be that they've decided to sit back and take some of the heat out of the match. That's a dangerous game."

Dmitry Kosarev:, external Russia's second goalkeeper Yuri Lodygin had a breakout season this year. Should have replaced Igor Akinfeev after South Korea.

Substitute Divock Origi is chasing headlines!

The young Belgium forward rises hight above the South Korea defence but his header flies wide. It appears to hit a white shirt before going behind but the referee awards a goal kick.

The 10 men are piling on the frustration for South Korea.

"Feel sorry for the chap in a Russia tracksuit top watching this next to us in Recife. Surrounded by USA fans, all he can do is shake his head as his team caves in."

A great chance for Russia to regain the lead as Aleksandr Kerzhakov powers into the Algeria penalty area and forces a smart save with a low finish.

Fabio Capello's men are heading out unless they can find a goal in the last 20 minutes.

"There is a possibility that there was a laser pen shone in Igor Akinfeev's face just before the free-kick was taken. The thing is that you don't know if the pen is being shone in your face. You're just blinking more, and wondering if you've got something in your eye. So Akinfeev wouldn't necessarily know that was shining at him."

"It's poor marking. It's a very simple goal - they've just gone to the back post. It's not the best header of the tournament, because Slimani's hardly got anything to do, but it may be one of the most important.

"The question for the Russian defence is: Why have they got Kombarov marking Slimani? He's not a centre-back, he's a full-back. Slimani's won nothing against the two centre-backs, Ignashevich and Berezutskiy, all evening, but now he's got a goal."

Russia keeper Igor Akinfeev has had another shocker.

A free-kick is swung into the penalty area and he fails to make contact which allows Islam Slimani to head into an empty net.

A green laser from the crowd was pointed on Akinfeev at the time but he should have done better than that. Remember his error in the game against South Korea.
