"Algeria finished the first half strongly. The quality wasn't great in the first 10 minutes, but you'd expect that because of what's at stake. As the half has gone on, it's been frantic, but the quality has improved as well. I don't think the story here is quite finished yet."

"Steve Defour was sent off quite rightly for a two-footed challenge, and this presents an opportunity for South Korea. Defour just jumped in senselessly."

"Islam Slimani's had two headed chances now for Algeria. When the ball is played long up to him, he's not winning anything. But when the ball's being put in from crosses, he looks totally different."

  16. HALF-TIMEpublished at 21:47 British Summer Time 26 June 2014

South Korea are going out as it stands but there will be no panic from the Taeguk Warriors just yet.

That horrible challenge by Steven Defour means they will be playing the whole of the second half against 10 men.

Group H is still very much alive.

"Defour is stunned but I thought he went in with two feet with a stamping motion after the ball had gone. Surely that will act as an impetus for South Korea to look for goals."

So far, so good for Russia.

Fabio Capello should be smiling. But he isn't. He marches to the dressing room with a huge frown on his face.

  19. RED CARDpublished at 21:44 British Summer Time 26 June 2014

    Madness by Steven Defour.

His team are sailing through to the knockout stages but the Porto midfielder produces an ugly right foot challenge on Kim Shin-wook.

There was absolutely no need for that. Belgium down to 10 men.

All Belgium's chances are dropping for Dries Mertens but the Napoli man has clearly left his scoring boots at home.
