Ollie P in Stourbridge: It won't happen, because too much money, but I've thought for a long time, a lot of WBA's problems would be sorted by Jordan Rhodes and Nathan Redmond. Pace down the flanks, and a solid poacher who knows where the goal is... It's nice to dream, isn't it?

Mark from Burnley: Just seen Jack Collison arriving at Burnley's training ground. Great signing for the Clarets.

Did you have a nice, quiet weekend? Lucky old you. Quite a few in the football business have obviously been very busy indeed.

Among the notable movers over the last 48 hours are Shinji Kagawa, who has rejoined Borussia Dortmund from Manchester United for an undisclosed fee, and Fernando Torres who is off to AC Milan on a two-year loan deal.

Chelsea have replaced the Spaniard with France striker Loic Remy, who was signed from Queens Park Rangers in a £10.5m deal.

  3. Hey big spenderspublished at 08:41 British Summer Time 1 September 2014

Sports business group Deloitte released some figures on Friday suggesting that going into the final weekend of the summer transfer window total spending by Premier League clubs had reached £725m. To place that in perspective, it surpasses last year's record by almost £100m.

And with plenty of clubs hinting that there is a lot more business to come, that figure is certain to get higher before the window closes at 23:00 BST.

    Calculators at the ready.

  4. Wigan latestpublished at 08:34 British Summer Time 1 September 2014

Wigan hope to complete the signing of striker Andy Delort from French club FC Tours today.

Wolves also made an offer for Delort, who previously played for Nimes and Ajaccio, but it appears that he has set his sights on a move to the DW Stadium.

  6. Agent's viewpublished at 08:30 British Summer Time 1 September 2014

    BBC Radio 5 live

Football agent Rachel Anderson: "The club with the most money will sign Radamel Falcao, as long as they play Champions League football. We don't know where he will go, we just know he will.

"Personally, I have one player left who doesn't have a club but there is no rush for him. He can still go after the transfer window.

"I don't like transfer deadline day and I don't know why they have messed it up, it was fine the way it was before. It was meant to stop the big clubs from spending too much money but that hasn't happened."

  7. Everton in for Cleverley?published at 08:28 British Summer Time 1 September 2014

    Phil McNulty
    BBC Sport chief football writer

"Everton manager Roberto Martinez is expected to be trying to do some business today.

"Martinez is a huge admirer of Tom Cleverley, having worked with the Manchester United midfield man when he was on loan at Wigan. Will he make a late bid to steal him away from Aston Villa, who have had a bid accepted? He is also wanted by Hull City.

"Not much cash floating around at Goodison Park after the club's record £28m signing of Romelu Lukaku so there may be more of the imaginative work in the loan market that has become something of a Martinez trademark."

  9. PL clubs eye MK Dons starlet?published at 08:20 British Summer Time 1 September 2014

MK Dons boss Karl Robinson says that some of the Premier League's biggest clubs have enquired about midfielder Dele Alli.

The 18-year-old was linked with a move to Liverpool, external in the summer. He received plaudits for his performance in the 4-0 victory over Manchester United in the Capital One Cup on Tuesday.

"We've had two or three conversations with top Premier League teams," Robinson told BBC 5 live's Sportsweek.

Sam in London: Just spoken to Falcao at St Pancras station. Asked if he needed directions to the Jubilee line (to get to West Ham) Acquired laugh - but he's going to Euston. Must mean it's a Man City signing not Chelsea or Arsenal.

Guardian football correspondent Jamie Jackson: "The most exciting transfer deadline day gossip is a potential deal for Radamel Falcao who has been offered to Manchester City, Arsenal and possibly Manchester United. It is a classic deadline day story.

"City have the problem of Financial Fair Play and would have to sell someone like Alvaro Negredo, Matija Nastasic or Micah Richards for the deal to work. The sense I had from City yesterday was that the deal was difficult but in the whacky world of transfers, who knows?

"Falcao is a superstar striker and could potentially tear the Premier League up. He is the sort of name that fans just love and could set the place alight.

"Arsene Wenger is quite stubborn and says he doesn't need another striker, even though Olivier Giroud is injured. If they sign Falcao, they will be close to winning the title.

"Brendan Rodgers has bought really well and Mario Balotelli looks a good signing, but we'll see how long that lasts for. He is an interesting character and I am sure that will emerge."

Hull manager Steve Bruce expects George Boyd to join Burnley after allowing the forward to hold talks with the club.

The 28-year-old Scotland international is expected to cost about £3m.

Bruce said: "It looks like Boydy will go to Burnley. He got an offer of a three or four-year contract at Burnley and the chance to play."

Boyd, who signed for the Tigers from Peterborough midway through their promotion campaign in 2012-13, has made one league appearance this season.

BBC World Service reporter John Bennett: "In Spain everyone's talking about Real Madrid's search for a new striker, with Manchester United's Javier Hernandez the favourite.

"Meanwhile Belgium international Tony Alderweireld is set to leave Atletico Madrid, with the press in his home country predicting he'll join Southampton on loan.

"And in Germany the window shuts early, at 6pm. After Xabi Alonso's move to Bayern Munich last week and Shinji Kagawa's return to Borussia Dortmund yesterday, Bundesliga's big two aren't expected to dip into the market over the next few hours... but as Arsene Wenger says, 'you never know on deadline day'."
