  1. SUBSTITUTIONpublished at 18:35 British Summer Time 21 October 2014

This is really quite worrying for Manchester City now as CSKA get in behind the defence again - Roman Eremenko pulls the trigger on a drilled cross that is crying out for a tap-in at the far post.

    Lucky, lucky.

Manuel Pellegrini responds by withdrawing David Silva and bringing on Fernandinho. The artist off, the handyman on.

That's rash. Vincent Kompany slams into the back of Ahmed Musa to concede a free-kick in a dangerous spot. Joe Hart wants three in the wall, he's really quite adamant about that, vocal, but he is able to come and claim the ball in the end.

Last 15 minutes. Can City hold on?

  3. SUBSTITUTIONpublished at 18:29 British Summer Time 21 October 2014

Edin Dzeko looks disappointed as his number comes up on the flashy board, as City send on Jesus Navas. The flying machine will presumably allow James Milner to step in to the middle and bolster it up.

As a colleague points out, the CSKA stadium announcer is really robbing a living tonight...

  4. Postpublished at 18:28 British Summer Time 21 October 2014

Much better from Manchester City since they conceded that goal - but worth repeating that a draw tonight would really be no good at all. It's win or bust in Moscow.

City have been sitting deep since the break but now come forward again, Edin Dzeko cushioning a fine ball down into Sergio Aguero's path. His touch is for once not perfect and the chance is gone.

CSKA are up for this now, pushing men forwards and forcing City back.

  7. 'A boisterous reaction'published at 18:24 British Summer Time 21 October 2014

"Twenty-five minutes left and not much seemed to be happening in this second half. But Doumbia couldn't miss.

"Quite a boisterous reaction from this crowd which is supposed to be sponsors and club delegates.

    "Not so sure about that."

  8. GOALpublished at 18:22 British Summer Time 21 October 2014

That does make it very interesting! CSKA are right back in it with a well-worked goal. Eliaquim Mangala is sucked out of position, Ahmed Musa vacates the space in behind him and instantly drills the ball across goal. Seydou Doumbia is first to the cross and doesn't miss from a few yards out.

  9. CLOSE!published at 18:21 British Summer Time 21 October 2014

Lovely strike! Roman Eremenko hits a cracking strike on the bounce from 25 yards, catches it sweet as a nut, it beats Joe Hart but lands on the roof of the net. That would have made things interesting...

Seydou Doumbia is back with us after some treatment, I think it was his hand that was the issue. Studs to the hand in minus temperatures - he has my sympathy.

  11. YELLOW CARDpublished at 18:16 British Summer Time 21 October 2014

    Fernando is bookedImage source, AP

City midfielder Fernando is in the book for a sliding tackle on halfway, it was firm but fair - at first glance - but after a moment of thought referee Istvan Vad hands out the yellow.

CSKA striker Seydou Doumbia is in trouble too, leaving the field on a stretcher.

  12. Postpublished at 18:13 British Summer Time 21 October 2014

Moscow midfielder Bebras Natcho takes on and beats Yaya Toure and flashes a shot over the top.

The Russians are on a streak of six consecutive losses in European competition and look like making that seven - unless something dramatic happens in the last half hour.

The quietest stand since Arsenal had that mural at Highbury...

  14. Postpublished at 18:09 British Summer Time 21 October 2014

Uefa's disciplinary team have got CSKA Moscow's phone number - I wonder if that's another call to come? It is meant to be behind closed doors and if there are fans in the ground then is that more sanctions?

The home side have started the second half with plenty of the ball but City can be content to sit and hit on the break.

    Alistair Bruce-Ball
BBC Radio 5 live at the Khimki Arena

"The more the game goes on, slight eyebrows are being raised at the make-up of this crowd.

"Looks like there's some CSKA fans in here basically, not sure how happy Man City will be about that."

Aleksandar Kolarov is having a fine game tonight, and he powers through a tackle before slamming a rising shot into the side-netting. The angle wasn't really on for a shot there but when you've got a left foot like a sledgehammer then why not?
