Derby County's programme this afternoon includes a tribute to Brian Clough. Included is a profile of Clough, a review of his time at the club and also columns from a number of local journalists on the great man.

In addition, five minutes before kick-off a commemorative video highlighting his time at the Rams, including the 1971-72 title-winning season, will be played.

There was a minute's applause during the derby between Derby and Nottingham Forest last weekend and there is set to be the same tomorrow as well this afternoon, after 10 minutes.

The day's early Championship game comes at Vicarage Road, where Watford host Bournemouth.

Watford boss Oscar Garcia is still away from the club after he was admitted to hospital on Sunday with minor chest pains.

Garcia was due to leave hospital yesterday and assistant coach Ruben Martinez told BBC Three Counties Radio: "He is much better. I was with him on Thursday and he was very good.

"He will be with us I think in a few days. He needs rest."

Rest, and three points this afternoon no doubt.

Jean-Pierre from London: The Stamford Bridge reception for Drogba when he returned with Galatasaray has got to be up there!

Luke M: Ronaldo back at Old Trafford in the champions league, 75,000 signing his name. Atmosphere was electric.

Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho is never short of a view or two and he has been having his say on what the punishment should be for breaking Financial Fair Play rules before his side's game at Manchester City on Sunday.

City were of course fined for breaching FFP rules and Mourinho says: "Are the fines fair? I don't think so. What is fair is to remove points and titles."

Steve from Surbiton: Clough scored 251 goals in 274 appearances! Anyone better than that except Messi and Ronaldo?

"We did a programme with Brian Clough for BBC's World Service in 2003 in which he picked his favourite XI - with Johan Cruyff, Gerd Muller, Bobby Moore and John Charles selected. I asked him who would be the manager and was not surprised at the answer.

"Well it'd have to be someone who's played a bit, could talk about it clearly without waffling on as if he was Albert Einstein, someone who wouldn't be afraid to tell that Cruyff bloke to pass the ball. I suppose it had better be me!"

"It was a tongue-in-cheek answer, but he was convinced he was the right man for the job. He had utter conviction laced with humour - his forte. The only thing he was afraid of was flying.

"You turned up the volume when Cloughie was on the telly or radio. He was fearless and naturally funny. You may have disliked him, but you couldn't ignore him. That would do for him, young man."

Benedict Flint:, external A man of principles and a wicked turn of phrase. He also had a knack of buying great centre backs...

Andrew Mensah:, external Rest in peace Old Big 'Ead, they don't make the likes of him anymore which is a crying shame for football in this country.

He is immediately booed getting off the coach and heckled by fans outside the ground. Hughes doesn't show any kind of reaction as he walks into the stadium.

QPR manager Harry Redknapp welcomes his predecessor and current Stoke boss Mark Hughes back to the club in the early kick-off today.

"You're never going to get a perfect group and it was probably a difficult time for him.

"It was difficult walking into a tough situation inheriting a club that hadn't won for 13 games.

"There were lots of groups at the club, the lads who had been here before, played in the Championship, the new group who came in and there wasn't a good atmosphere at that stage.

"I don't know the circumstances, he's done a good job everywhere he's been but it just didn't work out here."

Brian Clough, who died 10 years ago today, was the king of the one-liner. Here are some of his very best quotes.

    Brian CloughImage source, PA

"I wouldn't say I was the best manager in the business. But I was in the top one."On his own success.

"If God had wanted us to play football in the clouds, he'd have put grass up there."On the importance of passing the ball to feet.

"We talk about it for 20 minutes and then we decide I was right."On dealing with players who disagree with him.

"Don't send me flowers when I'm dead. If you like me, send them while I'm alive."After the liver transplant which extended his life.

"I thought it was my next-door neighbour because I think she felt that if I got something like that I would have to move."Guessing who nominated him for a knighthood.

"I want no epitaphs of profound history and all that type of thing. I contributed. I would hope they would say that, and I would hope somebody liked me."On being remembered.

Nick: Warmest reception? Well, it'll have to be Ronaldo's Old Trafford return. There, is that enough to encourage a transfer?

Christopher Duggan:, external "I wouldn't say I was the best manager in the business. But I was in the top one." What a line that is. Absolute class in every sense. He was his own man and a brilliant manager. His Nottingham Forest team from 1978 to 1980 were the best bar none.

Dave Woolway:, external Even being Welsh I think England missed out big time by not having Cloughie as your manager. Loved it when he clipped that fan who ran on the pitch! Such passion for the game. RIP.

Mick Henry:, external He wouldn't be happy the way footie is going nowadays with all the diving cheating and conning of refs! The man was pure class!

Oh Danny, Danny, Danny! The doubters over Danny Welbeck's ability point to the England striker, who moved to Arsenal from Manchester United for £16m on transfer deadline day, being able to put in a shift for his team only to lack that killer instinct in front of goal.

Now, in his first two games for the Gunners, he has only gone and backed up their case after failing to take two glorious chances.

A chip from him hit the post in the 2-2 draw against Manchester City last Saturday, while he missed the target altogether when clean through at Borussia Dortmund in the Champions League on Tuesday. Can he find his ruthless edge against Aston Villa today?
